Taxpayers Need Tax Relief Now

C. L. Collins
The solution to the nation's economic ills, mainly from Democrats, is to tax citizens in the hopes that such an act will grow an economy and produce some kind of an economic recovery. Who in their right mind thinks that by taking more of the people's money will somehow magically create sustaining revenue and produce results? Taxpayers need tax cuts now or there will be a time in the not so distant future when the economic status of the average taxpayer will be reduced to nothing more than beans and rice and a portable toilet.

When people have less money to spend, it hurts the economy and the reason is simple - no buying power means less products being purchased and that equals no job growth or increased tax revenue - It still gets me on how many forget this simple equation. Naturally, there will be some other variables to add but in the basic analysis, tax cuts work and they always have worked. Why wouldn't tax cuts work?

Tax cuts provide a boost to the economy and it benefits the taxpayer because they get to keep more of their hard earned money that in many cases, the government has no business keeping and spending as they please. The argument from liberals and democrats alike is that tax cuts will cause deficits. That term is not being used correctly as when former President's George Bush, Ronald Reagan, and even John F. Kennedy initiated cut taxes, the end result was increased tax revenue for the government and economic growth.

People will complain that the deficits is quite large and it is but that was not the result of tax cuts that the liberals scream about - it is the result of out of control government spending from funding wars to just plain domestic spending on entitlements that many times, bleed with fraud and misuse.

Congress seems to know no barriers to spending other people's money and then claim that have done something good for someone - which "good" meets someone's perfect world but it surely doesn't meet my idea of fiscal responsibility or a perfect world.

There are no negative sides of cutting taxes for anyone. If tax rates are cut substantially across the board, sure some government workers will lose their jobs and hardly any service levels will decrease - not that the government could run or anything right or efficiently no matter how many people they employ.

Never mind the liberal democrat disdain of those greedy and evil rich people who are more economically better off than most people - they just happen to be the ones who invest more than the average person. You don't hear that from the democrats do you? They would rather scorn the economically successful because it feels good to go after them rather than understanding that without them, not many would be employed - I bet the average liberal worker never thinks about how many successful rich liberals and democrats there is in society and Congress.

This week, President Obama will issue his State of the Union and reports have stated that he has increased his staff and will also deliver an uncompromising address to the American people. The White House Aides have stated that the President has no plans to change any of his policies but will focus on job creation - that should have been the number one priority after he took office but his socialist locomotive agenda got in the way - any bets on how many times Obama will say, "I feel your pain" come Wednesday night?

White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod this past Sunday stated, "If they have a job, they're working harder for less. They're falling behind. That's been true for a decade. They look at a wave of irresponsibility from Wall Street to Washington that led to that. And those were the frustrations that got the president elected in the first place, and they were reflected again on Tuesday" in the Massachusetts election."

Sorry Mr. Axelrod, your comments are aloof with errors. Sure Americans are working hard - as if taxpayers never worked hard before - and yet, they see no tax relief in any form which is one reason why they are working for less. Furthermore, no it has not been true for a decade; only since Obama was elected and the "Hope and Change" motto was nothing more than a pipe dream; a package of lies, which millions fell for.

Comparing the win of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts to the frustrations that got Obama elected is absurd in all its glory. The reason why voters in Massachusetts elected a Republican over a Democrat reflected the fact that Obama has failed in creating anything remotely related to job growth, out of control spending, back room deals, not to mention trying to jam a socialist healthcare agenda that many do not want. Passing this so-called "I Care!" healthcare legislation means little to those who have no job, are losing their homes, and are stressed to the limits for families and those that are single.

Obama plans to present relief ideas for American families which include doubling of the child care tax credit for families; a $1.6 billion increase in federal funding for child care programs - not sure where that money is coming from - and a program to cap student loan payments at 10 percent of income above a basic living allowance.

If passed, when will this take affect? How about 2011 - can the American people wait that long for this so-called jobs creator?

On January 22, President Obama spoke in Elyria, Ohio and stated, "I can promise you; there will be more fights in the days ahead. We're having one of them right now because I want to charge Wall Street a modest fee to repay taxpayers in full for saving their skin in a time of need. You can rest assured; we're going to get that money, your money back, each and every dime."

There you have it; Obama will raid the coffers of banks and Wall Street to get "your" money back. The banks and other institutions will then re-coup those fees by "you", the taxpayer, in some form or another - ever play musical chairs as a kid?

What Obama and the rest of the democrats fail to see is that taxpayers are "taxed" to death. Obama and his wisdom that his so-called bailout plan for the middle class will provide much needed relief is a bad policy and will not work.

It's time all taxpayers get real relief with major tax cuts and not more words of failed policies and inactions by an incompetent Obama administration.

Give major tax relief to small businesses and taxpayers. That is what I call "real" relief.
