Taylor Hicks Buys Lake Front Property

Nearly a Year After Winning the Title of "American Idol", Taylor Spends Some Dough

When I heard Taylor Hicks say that he would most likely settle in Los Angeles because of work, I laughed a little bit. Taylor is a true southern boy, through and through, and to see him living in Los Angeles would be kind of funny. I wouldn't be surprised if he rents an apartment or something there, but to settle there? Never!

Well, my opinions were spot on! Taylor Hicks is purchasing property at The Oaks in Scottsboro, Alabama. The Oaks is a gated community nestled on Lake Guntersville where Hicks has been known to enjoy bass fishing in the past. What country boy doesn't like to fish? I bet you wouldn't find much bass fishing in Los Angeles! The Oaks is said to be a park-like setting with beautiful views, a clubhouse and marina. Well, Heaven's to Betsy, they even have paved roads! Even a good southern boy deserves at least that!

The Oaks has no time limit set on building, so Taylor might take his time on getting himself settled. I don't know how he has time to make plans for building a house, because he's touring like crazy! I guess he does get a day off here and there and has probably hired a great architect.

The Oaks is thrilled to have Hicks on their property, but who wouldn't? Does his existence increase property value? I would say that it would! Taylor's attorney, Michael Douglas, says that "Taylor is really excited about this opportunity."

I am sure he won't get to spend too much time there at his new home, but when he does get to be there, he better watch out for the Soul Patrol! They might just be patrolling the waters outside his house with a fancy pair of binoculars!

Kudos to you, Taylor, on buying your first home! I'm sure that it's more than a dream come true..A gated community will give you the privacy that you're aching for all the time! Let's hope the security guards are good! Hey, are The Oaks hiring??? Give me an application! HA!
