Hicks just completed an 18 month stretch in the national tour of the Broadway hit musical, Grease. Hicks played Teen Angel, singing "Beauty School Dropout", He also was able to play harmonica and after the show he performed a single off his newest CD "The Distance". Hicks made the role his and thrilled audiences everywhere the tour went.
Hicks may be labeled by some as not being successful, however as reported at Pop Eater. Com Hicks brought in $3.5 million during the past 18 months for his tour, album and merchandise sales and appearance fees. If that is not considered being successful than most of us in this world will never be considered successful.
Taylor Hicks is now on to the next phase of his career. Hicks is preparing to go out and do what he loves most, performing music in front of live audiences. More dates are being added all the time but here is the list of confirmed shows thus far.

Do you need more proof that Taylor Hicks is far from idle? This fall Taylor Hicks will be back on TV as he will be appearing on an episode of Don't Forget the Lyrics which airs on VH1 and he will also be on an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories which airs on the Biography Channel. Fans are very excited about Taylor Hicks being on these shows.
Hicks is also active in helping charity's, March 18 2010 he returned home to Alabama where he joined Habitat for Humanity and helped a family by painting and putting siding on their home.
The oil spill also hits home for Hicks and he has been active in trying to raise awareness to this disaster. He is also working with the Alabama Department of Tourism and shot a commercial to encourage people to stick with their plans to visit the shoreline in Alabama.
There is much to see and enjoy in Alabama. Hicks told USA TODAY's Lorena Blas "When I first heard about the spill, I knew that it was gonna be bigger than many thought. I initially started reaching out to different groups and raising awareness. ... We all have to be pro-active in making sure that the companies involved and the government sees this disaster through from beginning to end. We're still bracing for more of an impact. ... It's something that I feel I have to be vocal and be very pro-active in."
Another great charity that Hicks is involved in is SOS Children's Villages. SOS cares for about 80,000 children who have been left without parents and homes, and helps more than one million through its outreach programs in 132 countries.
Taylor Hicks agreed to do a benefit concert at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center on September 26th/rescheduled from a date of June 17 due to scheduling conflicts. Hicks also recorded a song written by Genevieve Rose to raise awareness for the children and this great organization. The song is called "SOS (Save My Body, Save My Soul" and a snippet can be heard here. The song is available on iTunes and Amazon.
