Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley of Carrots, Broccoli and Cauliflower

These Vegetables Were a Little Pricey but They Tasted Really Good

I don't normally buy chopped up and pre-washed vegetables but the other day I saw a bag of Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley. It was a ready-to-eat bag of organic carrots, organic broccoli and organic cauliflower. It was actually the cauliflower that caught my eye. I have been debating whether or not I wanted to try some organic cauliflower. I didn't know if my toddler son would care for it, and I would have the pressure of eating it before it went bad. I thought that this seemed like the perfect way to see if my son liked cauliflower without having to buy a lot of it.

I thought it was kind of nice having the organic carrots, organic broccoli and organic cauliflower pre-washed. Also, I thought it was interesting that you could microwave the bag to steam the vegetables. We don't have a microwave by choice so this wouldn't be something we would have done but I still noted it and thought it was interesting. We actually just ate the vegetables in the bag raw. There was about ten ounces of organic vegetables in the bag so we didn't eat the whole thing in one meal, it actually took about two meals. When I first opened the bag I noticed a couple of things and I noticed these things the second time that I opened the bag as well.

All of the vegetables in the Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley bag looked nice and clean. The only blemishes that I saw were very subtle and they were the occasional discoloration on the cauliflower. I just trimmed anything that I didn't want to eat off of the organic cauliflower but the organic broccoli and organic carrots in the bag were perfect. Each vegetable offered really great taste. My son liked the baby carrots best but he also enjoyed the broccoli. He wasn't too sure about the cauliflower and although he had some he wasn't asking for more of it. I thought that it tasted good though. The bag wasn't re-sealable so I closed it the best I could by folding the top down.

The next time that we ate from the bag of Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley it was at least a day or two from the first night that we opened it. There were some more blemishes on the cauliflower, which I trimmed off. I have noticed cauliflower in the store with this discoloration on it so perhaps it is just common. I didn't think that it was too much trouble to trim off the discolored parts but I definitely noticed that there were more discoloration after the bag had been opened. For this reason I think that it is a good idea to use it up all in one meal. The broccoli and carrots still looked pretty darn perfect. Before discarding the bag I looked over the nutrition facts.

In about a third of the bag there was twenty-five calories. There isn't any salt or other preservatives added to the organic vegetables but in a third of the Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley bag there was forty milligrams of sodium. There was also in this amount of organic vegetables five grams of carbohydrates and two grams each of fiber, sugars and protein. In the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts it listed one hundred percent for vitamin A, seventy percent for vitamin C, four percent for iron and two percent for calcium. Overall I liked the bag of Taylor Organic Vegetable Medley but I don't think I'll get it very often. In the long run it is cheaper to buy my fresh vegetables that I have to wash and chop up myself. The ten ounce bag that I got was two dollars and thirty-six cents and I would recommend for anyone to try it.
