Taylor Swift Announces World Tour and Dates After Record Breaking Debut of New CD "Speak Now"

Taylor Swift announced this past Tuesday in a news release her scheduled 2011 tour dates for promoting her new CD, "Speak Now," which debuted at number one on the Billboards chart in October. "Speak Now" sold over a million copies in the first week of sales, breaking the standing record set in 2005 of number of copies sold.

The international tour, called the "Taylor Swift Speak Now World Tour 2011" will take Taylor and her music to 19 countries on four different continents during the planned one year tour. Swift will begin the tour in Singapore on February 8, 2011 and close out in New Zealand and Australia. Closing dates for those two countries have not been announced at this time.

Swift comments on the upcoming tour on her website saying, "I'm so excited to go back out on tour again in 2011!" says Taylor. "The FEARLESS Tour was so much fun and even more unforgettable than I ever imagined, and I can't wait to get back out and play my new music from Speak Now! The fans have been so amazing, and I'm thrilled to play in new cities around the world and meet even more of my fans in 2011!"

Swift has been hitting lots of venues in city after city promoting her new CD. She performed earlier this month on the Country Music Awards and the American Music Award Show, where she earned the Favorite Country Female Artist of the Year.

Swift's last tour, "Fearless," spanned the years of 2009 and 2010 and sold out in each of the 107 venues where it was booked. "Fearless" helped boost the country music singer into super stardom with successful concerts and record sales all over the world breaking records.
