Taylor Swift Named Billboard’s 2011 Woman of the Year

Taylor Swift has won many prestigious awards, and now has a Billboard Woman of the Year Award to add to her stash. Billboard named the 21 year old country music superstar the 2011 Woman of the Year and will present the award during the 2011 Billboard Women in Music Event to be held on December 2, 2011 in New York City.

Swift is the youngest woman to ever receive the award and even more impressive is that she has only released three albums to date. Swift's first album, Taylor Swift, which was released in 2006, still holds the record for the longest running album on Billboard 200 since the year 2000.

Swift's second album, "Fearless" has won the most awards of all-time and has been certified platinum six times over. "Fearless" also showcased Swift's talent as both a singer and songwriter.

Taylor Swift has many accomplishments to her name in the few years since she debuted with the single, "Tim McGraw." She has had mega album and download sales, successful worldwide tours, success as a songwriter, became a spokeswoman for CoverGirl Cosmetics, and is now venturing out into retail sales with the launch of her new cologne, "Wonderstruck."

Swift has been promoting her third album "Speak Now" on a world tour this year. "Speak Now," contains 14 hits that Swift wrote for the album, which sold over a million copies during the first week of sales. "Speak Now" debuted at the top of Billboard 200. The tour continues through the end of November 2011 with sold out shows all across the United States.

Swift just released a new CD on October 11, 2011, "Taylor Swift Journey to Fearless" that is labeled as "The Ultimate Live Experience." The CD contains 13 live performances, home movies and interviews. It's really impressive how this star continually reinvents ways to keep her fans happy with her music.

A new "Speak Now Live Tour + CD" will be released on November 21, 2011 by Swift and promises to be another top seller for the megastar. I would also guess that this CD will be even better than the live "Fearless" CD released in October.

Swift is nominated for six awards at the upcoming Country Music Awards, including the Entertainer of the Year Award. The 45th Country Music Awards will be held in Nashville, TN on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 7:00 pm Central Standard Time. The award show will once again be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
