Taylor Swift performed at a benefit concert in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, March 14, 2009 to aid the victims of the recent wildfires in the area. Swift, who was already in the area on tour, joined forces with Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, Coldplay, Kasey Chambers and numerous other Australian performers to put on the benefit concert.

Swift was asked to take part in the "Sound Relief" Brush Fire Concert just as her sold-out Australian tour ended. She agreed to participate and extended her stay in Australia for several days.

Taylor Swift has become a household name, becoming Billboard's best selling artist of 2008 and selling out concert dates in record times. Her February 22, 2009 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA sold out in a record time of only two minutes. She also recently had a dream come true when offered a guest appearance on CSI. The episode aired in the beginning of March.

The country-pop singer-songwriter will return to the United States later this month and continue her 2009 Fearless Tour. Swift will next perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston, TX on March 20, 2009.

Swift was recently nominated for Album of the Year for her "Fearless" album at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The award show will air on CBS on Sunday, April 5, 2009.
