Taylor Swift Releases New Song - Mine

Well, well, well. After the song was originally leaked on a website, Big Machine Records, the record label for Taylor Swift, have decided to push the release date up a couple weeks and have officially released the new single entitled, "Mine," from Swift's upcoming album Speak Now due out in October.

The song is about what else, love. It has an upbeat rhythm, is a mix of a little country and pop and it's going to do very well. It doesn't blow you away by any means, but it delivers the sound her fans want and expect to hear.

Swift has a hold of her niche and her grip is getting tighter as the song already hit #1 on iTunes. Her popularity doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. There's no dispute she has her fan base and a loyal one for that matter, but aside from her fans, there seems to be 2 sides to how the industry views her.

There's the side that really doesn't like her, citing her lack of vocal prowess and the lack of creativity with what she's doing. They see her as "cookie cutter pop" for the most part just feeding off commercial success.

Then there's the side that focuses on her talents as a songwriter and the ability to capture and convey emotion through her words with a recognizable tone. She has that role model quality parents look for and it shows with the album sales. Parents are having no problem dishing out the dough for Swift's "safe" material in a society where morals have gone out the window.

She writes about love and that's exactly what her fan base wants. Eventually her success will take a down turn, but all indications show that it won't happen anytime soon, not with the October album anyway.
