Taylor Swift Wins Artsit of the Year at 2011 American Music Awards
Lady Antebellum Picks Up Favorite Group Award
The American Music Awards aired live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night, November 20, 2011 at 7:00 pm CST on the ABC network. This award show features awards for all genres of music, but since I am a huge country music fan, this article will focus on that aspect of the awards show only.
The first award to be given to a county music artist was for the Favorite County Female Artist. The winner was Taylor Swift, who stepped on the stage in a stunning sequined long gold gown. The dress was simple, yet gorgeous and went well with her skin tone and blonde hair. Speaking of Taylor's hair, she wore it straight and pulled to the side in a low pony. It was different, but cute. I think just about anything is cute on Taylor Swift!
The Band Perry took the stage soon afterward to perform their hit single "If I Die Young." The performance was stellar and the sound was excellent. There seemed to be a few problems with the sound just minutes earlier as Justin Bieber started his performance of "Under the Mistletoe.: The sound improved a bit as Bieber performed his new single that will be released for the holidays. Kimberly donned a long red dress with a full gathered skirt with a black section at the bottom front. She looked very nice in the dress as it highlighted her very small waistline.
Lady Antebellum won the award for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group. The trio accepted the award and gave a quick acceptance speech before heading backstage for media interviews. Hillary wore a gorgeous strapless black sequined long dress for the occasion that had her simply glowing.
Taylor Swift also picked up the award for Favorite Country Album for "Speak Now." This marked the second big win for Taylor Swift tonight. However, that award was shadowed a few mintues later as Taylor Swift was named The Artist of the Year, the top award of the show. Swift was totally stunned as she took to the microphone to accept the award. Swift had no speech prepared and repeated, "Oh My God," "I Can't Believe This," and "Thank you Fans," "And Thank You Fans" over and over. Last year's Artist of the Year was Justin Bieber.

Post a CommentHmmmm... Beiber and then Swift as artist of the year? I don't see it. Taylor Swift is ok, I just don't see her (or Beiber) as artist of the year!
GO Taylor!
:)
She's a winner in the world of music, that's for sure.
Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum seem to be in every award going....it's their time:)
