Taylor Swift Wins Favorite Female Country Artist and Woos Fans With Amazing Performance at the 2010 American Music Awards
Swift also amazed fans and gained some new ones tonight with her live performance during the 2010 American Music Awards.
I had been hearing rumors during the past week saying that Taylor Swift's performance would "steal the show." I also heard that her performance would be spectacular and one that nobody will be able to top in the future. Another tidbit I heard was that there would be flying pianos. Interesting, indeed!
After hearing all of these things, there was only one thing I could possibly do, and that was to tune in and watch the 2010 American Music Awards for myself and catch Taylor Swift's performance.
Swift performed a hit from her new CD, "Back to December." She entered the stage on a platform coming down from the ceiling sitting at the piano. The stage setting was spectacular and in my opinion better than the set for her performance of the same song for the 2010 County Music Awards.
Swift and the piano landed in a winter wonderland with trees lit up in white lights, snow falling and a full moon appearing toward the end of the song. It was simply beautiful and very fitting for the song performed.
There were no flying pianos, but Swift's entrance was unique and her performance the best of the night or very close to it! Swift is known for making spectacular entrances from the ceiling and has appeared coming down in a big balloon and a swing on previous award show performances.
Others performing on the live show broadcast on ABC on Sunday, November 21, 2010 were:
Backstreet Boys
The Black Eyed Peas
Bon Jovi
Carlos Santana
Enrique-Inglesias with Pitbull
Gavin Rossdale
Justin Bieber
Katy Perry
Ke$ha
Kid Rock
Christina Aguilera
Miley Cyrus
New Kids on the Block
Ne-Yo and Ditty Dirt Money featuring Sean Diddy Combs
Pink
Rihanna
Train
Usher
Country music star, Brad Paisley, took home the Favorite Male Country Artist Award for the second time in his career. Paisley also won this award in 2008.
Lady Antebellum won the award for Favorite Band/Duo/Group. This was the very first American Music Award win for Lady Antebellum.

I missed it - thanks for the recap. cheers
Swift cannot sing without the help of a sound-mixer. However, she seems to be a talented song writer. But the AMAs this year -- just an all-around boring show...
great wrap up
Great recap! Makes me wish I had watched!
I think she is such a talented songwriter but I am not thrilled with her voice. I am happy for her success though.
Sounds like quite a performance.
