Taylor Swift's Ideal Prom Date is Katy Perry!

Country music sensation Taylor Swift has revealed her ideal prom date. It isn't her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, or any of her exes such as Taylor Lautner or Joe Jonas. It's Katy Perry!

As Swift explained (via People Magazine), "Katy Perry would be so much fun. She's just like crazy fun and like spontaneous."

Swift explained that she would like to attend a prom with a group of people that included Perry, Diddy, Justin Timberlake, and Sheryl Crow. She also comments that J. Lo would be a great dancer.

I guess going to the prom with Katy Perry would be a "Teenage Dream." I'm surprised she didn't mention Darren Criss, in reference to his performance on Glee.

Although Swift did not mention her boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal, I'm sure she appreciates him for his generosity. For her birthday, her bought her a $100,000 diamond bracelet; a $10,000 rare Fender Gretsch guitar signed by Chet Atkins; and 21 pounds of the best Kona beans along with a coffee maker and grinder (as reported by The Hollywood Gossip).

I like Swift's idea of going to the prom with a group of celebrities. While many high school students dream of a romantic prom night with their dream date, I like the idea of going to a prom with a group of people. When I was in high school, I went to my prom with a platonic male friend and a group of friends. Going to the prom as a group allowed us all to have a good time, even if we were not in relationships.

Going to the prom with a boyfriend or girlfriend can be wonderful if the relationship is going well, but if a couple is fighting, then prom night can become a nightmare. Prom is supposed to be one of the best nights of your life, but I knew ailing couples who broke up after their prom. Imagine having one of the most memorable nights of your life ruined by relationship drama!

A writer at Times Union agrees that going to the prom with friends can be a worthwhile experience:

"If you can't find a date don't stress. Don't spend all your time worrying about a date because when you get to prom you will most likely be hanging with your friends all night anyways. In most cases, going solo or with a group of friends is the most memorable way to experience prom."
