Taylor Swift's "Speak Now, Help Now" Benefit Concert Raises Over $750,000 for Tornado Victims in Southwest U.S

(NASHVILLE, TN) Taylor Swift stepped up and opened up her final dress rehearsal on Saturday, May 21, 2011 for her North American "Speak Now Tour" to the public to aid recent victims of tornados in the southeast area of the United States.

Dubbed as the "Speak Now, Help Now" concert, Taylor's last dress rehearsal held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee turned into a pretty nice concert drawing almost 13,000 fans. The concert raised over $750,000 with 100% of the ticket sales going to the charity for tornado victims.

The "Speak Now, Help Now" concert gave fans a first glimpse of the new state setup for the North American leg of the "2011 Speak Now Tour". The benefit concert lasted approximately two hours and gave fans a first class concert, something Swift has no trouble delivering on a routine basis.

Taking the fundraising effort one step further, Swift streamlined two performances on the internet, thus giving fans who did not have the opportunity to see the benefit concert in person a peek at the upcoming North American Speak Now Tour and a chance to donate online.

During the concert performance, Swift played the piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo and ukulele.

Swift resides in Nashville, Tennessee and was very concerned for the people that lived south of Nashville in Alabama and Mississippi where the tornados did the most damage. She certainly came up with a great idea.

Swift's 2011 Speak Now World Tour will kick off the North American leg on Friday, May 27, 2011 in Omaha, Nebraska. Swift continues to rack up album sales and digital downloads.

Swift was also named the #7th Most Powerful Celebrity on the Forbes 2011 List just released on May 20, 2011. She has become a household name, as she has captured the hearts of thousands of people through her music. Swift has also graced the cover of several magazines, the most recent the InStyle cover for June 2011.

Everyone in the free world knows I am not a TS fan, but I give her credit for doing this. There is so much destruction that the south needs all the help it can get.
