Tazbar Tackles Ebay

New Site Eats in to Ebay UK Market

Assoc Content
A second TV advertising campaign has begun for a young UK based P2P auction site called Tazbar.

To my eyes Tazbar has been working harder and gained better exposure in the UK of late than the dominant market leader eBay. When I read more positive views at the PheeBay Forums I had to take a look at the site to see what all the buzz is about.

On arriving at the Home Page I was pleasantly surprised by the fast loading and attractive layout. Navigation was a breeze and the facilities and information available to a casual browser were impressive.

Just as you expect at eBay there is a broad range of categories for buyers and sellers to use and I particularly liked the 'People Section' that enables individuals to sell their skills and services via the site, something that eBay appear to have neglected.

I looked over the information pages and found everything explained clearly and sensibly. My final test of the site was to look at their forums and see what users were saying to each other. For someone used to reading the negative, and often hostile, forums at eBay it was good to see genuine help, advice and friendly banter between users. It reminded me of the eBay I grew to love in the late nineties.

The home page makes it obvious the site is aimed at principal English speaking markets namely the US, UK, Canada and Australia but I didn't see any restriction on other locations.

Obviously the site is smaller than eBay, both in terms of sellers and listings, but I was impressed by what was available given the brief period of time Tazbar has been active.

Having decided this was a good site, easier to navigate and use than eBay, I was frankly startled to see the huge difference in seller costs compared to eBay. Tazbar offers a pricing structure that should make this the number one choice for sellers of collectables and specialist items that are now virtually priced off eBay.

The combination of ever increasing mail costs and eBay fees may well combine in 2007 to see a significant slow down in eBay growth, particularly for the smaller ticket items, and I am willing to bet many more people will do as I have done: Check Tazbar out.

Unfortunately it has been announced that Tazbar will shortly close. I guess this proves just how difficult it is to dent eBay's market domination in online auctions.

I joined Tazbar in the middle of November and allready had quit a few sales. The biggest difference i found was NO LISTING FEES unlike Ebay. You can list as many items as you want and not be charged for it.The final value fees are a hell of a lot cheaper too,so people are able to sell their goods cheaper than what you see on Ebay.
The forums are fantastic and there is allways someone there to give plenty of friendly advice.IM DOING IT!ARE YOU?

I registered with Tazbar in September after hearing about the site on the eBay discussion boards. I was immediately made to feel right at home and am daily impressed with the friendly support of other Tazbar members and staff on the forums. I have been selling well and am able to lower my prices as I dont pay listing fees. I am having a closing down sale on ebay in January and will be moving my entire ebay store stock to Tazbar in February.

Anyone who visits finds they are joing in the fun on the forums in next to now time at all and I know of no other on-line auction venue where a staff member phones one of the sellers to check up on them because we hadnt heard from them for a few days!!!

I have been using Tazbar for a number of months now after running down my auctions on ebay, and I have found it the most exciting and helpful site I have tried (tried several others before finding Tazbar). What with support 2nd. to none , fee's related to what you sell and not what you list (except a few extra's if you want them, but hardly needed since the introduction of the gallery), helpful and friendly forums where no question goes unanswered (helpful and humorous at the same time,I find this so relaxing I feel like making up questions just for the replies).
Management actually listen to - and act upon suggestions put forward. Forums are overseen by "yellow's"( YOU'LL SEE WHY I CALLED THEM THIS WHEN YOU HAVE A LOOK) who are not up their own "donkey's" but are there to prevent infringements of the forums so as to make it a safe place to hang out (NO CYBER BULLYING THERE).
Most of all ,fakes - e-books scams - etc. are almost nil , take them away from ebay and see the listings plumm

I have also recently switched to Tazbar. I feel it has a bright future ahead, and I hope that I will have the same now I'm a registered member.
Ebay has lost the plot, and the personal touch has gone from it.
Fees aside, it's a question of where you feel more comfortable, and I feel comfortable on Tazbar. So will you.

I joined Tazbar because to be honest I couldn't really afford the fees of Ebay and other sites. I actually read a post on the Ebay forum discussing Tazbar. The first thing I noticed was how helpful the whole community was and the one to one help from a person rather than an automated response when I needed to contact support on a query I had. The forums are fun and informative, the site is clean crisp and clear. And the lads at Tazbar do everything in their power to stop fraud and copyright infringments, something that I feel Ebay does little of basically because they are earning extortionate listings fees. UP THE TAZBAR is what I say. Long my it reign !

I registered with Tazbar in October and have been pleasently surprised at how friendly it is. It's easy to use, fees are practically non-existent compared to eBay and the forums are very friendly and informative. Although a new site with less traffic than eBay, because it is free to list there's nothing to lose. Would definitely recommend A+++++++
