Tazo Iced Tea Combinations

Great Mixes for New Iced Tea Flavors

Fern Cohen
Iced tea is so easy, can be made in any quantity you want, and can be made from different forms, depending on how much time you have, how much effort you want to put into it, and your philosophy of tea [purist or fast-and-convenient, for example]. You can make iced tea from powder mix, or you can brew it from bags and then ice it and chill it.
But anyway you choose to make it, you can be creative, and think outside the box [or jar or teabag].

Tazo Tea
Tazo Tea is used in these recipes. You can buy Tazo at any Starbucks or Seattle's Best cafe, Whole Foods, Food Emporium, online at cooking.com or igourmet.com, or go to the Tazo website [link above], and us the store locator for your state. I most cases you can substitute a similar Celestial Seasonings or Bigelow tea.

Some delicious combinations
Either steep teabags of both teas together in a teapot, and chill. Or, if you are using loose tea, mix together the loose tea and brew, then chill. Experiment with proportions, or just mix equal parts of each. In some cases, you can even find a powdered flavored ice tea mix, and combine with fruit juice. Here are some delicious combos:
[remember: if mixing cold juice with tea, cool the tea first]

  • Ginger/peach
Tazo Green Ginger with any peach teabag
or mix cooled tea with 2 teaspoons of peach nectar
  • lemon/pomegranate
cool tea made with Tazo lemon mate, and mix in 2 teaspoons of pomegranate juice
  • citrus mix
steep together in a teapot Tazo lemon mate with Tazo wild sweet orange
  • creamy chai
into cooled Tazo chai, mix in soy milk, regular milk, or lowfat milk. For an extra bite, mix in some ground ginger and ground cinnamon. It will taste just like the Thai iced tea served in Thai restaurants!
  • cinnamon/orange spice
This is a great combination. Steep together bags of Tazo wild sweet orange and Tazo sweet cinnamon spice.

These are just a few of the tasty combinations you can make. But don't be afraid to experiment with your own tea/tea or tea/juice combinations. You may discover some surprising new flavors.
