Tea Drinking Can Lessen Risks of Acquiring Ovarian Cancer

Debbie
Gynecological Cancer group recently conducted a survey among 2,700 Australian women (half with and half without the cancer). The questions presented were about diet, lifestyle and tea consumption habits. The conclusion indicated that consumption of four or more cups of tea daily whether it is black, green or herbal, possibly can reduce ovarian cancer by 30% in all women.

Managing researcher Dr. Christina Nagle stated that although past animal studies showed that tea can constrain the growth of ovarian cancer cells, the conclusions of human studies have been conflicting.
However, their data does reinforce the concept that antioxidants in tea possibly are favorable against cancer in humans.

Green tea is regarded as the healthiest tea around. Even though the study did not indicate a powerful result. Accumulation of all the results worldwide proposes that drinking one or more cups of green tea each day could decrease the chance of developing ovarian cancer by 40%. This still needs to be confirmed by further research.

In ovarian cancer cases at least 75% will be at a elevated stage when diagnosed, meaning the cancer has already spread to other parts of the body.

Early diagnoses leads to the best possible chance of survival. As of 2009, The American Cancer Society had estimated 21,550 new cases will be diagnosed and 14,600 deaths will occur.

Some of the risks are as follows:

Usually develops after menopause and half the cases in women aged 63 and older.
Tubal Ligation may cut the risks down to 67%.
Fertility drugs used for more than a year may increase chances of developing ovarian tumors.
Androgen's, Estrogen and Hormone therapies can create an increased risk.
Family history, breast cancer and colorectol cancers increase risks.

A research article in the Complimentary and Alternative Medicine 2008, 78% of women with ovarian cancer had used CAM therapies. High risk women who were older were more likely to use it as a treatment method.

Here are a few alternative methods that are used for ovarian cancer:

Naturopathic Medicine

One treatment is botanical medicine. Organic in nature, is suitable for ones own body and are gentle with few side effects.

Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

Otia University of Faculty Medicine in Oita, Japan, researchers found that beta-HIVS, set apart from traditional Chinese medicine may kill cancer cells.
Ginger root has been shown to reduce or stop cancer growth in studies.

According to a study provided by National Center for Complimentary and Alternative medicine, has indicated that acupuncture has proved to be an effective treatment for cancer patients to relieve pain and nausea.

Chiropractic

Use of spinal manipulation to decrease symptoms of pain.
