Tea Party Message to Republicans: Remember Why We Sent You to DC or Else!

Snidely Whiplash
The Tea Party has come out and unlike Democrats and Republicans, made a definitive statement to their elected representatives - do what we sent you to DC to do or we will elect someone who will! I like straight shooting, and I don't care who does not like my "uncivil" reference to shooting.

The Tea Party took a firm stand and my, my if that isn't refreshing as opposed to the non-stop prevarications and assorted hemming and hawing of Democrats and Republicans. Phillip Dennis, Texas Tea Party Organizer, was speaking to Chris Matthews on MSNBC, and spoke for his organization and by default for all of us who are Tea Party types.

Mathews' discussed how long Speaker Boehner has been in DC and then spoke of Hal Rogers having been in DC thirty years. Matthews' was painting the mosaic that new faces running the show will not bring change. He was trying to deflate the Tea Party spokesman's hopefulness by assuring him these Republicans will act like the previous batch. Matthews' runs the litany of why nothing will change with "And you're counting on these guys carrying your water?"

Dennis shot back "I'm hopefully optimistic....they spent money like a bunch of Democrats." He then reminded Matthews' of the Tea Party card up his sleeve. "We're gonna hold their feet to the fire and if they are not prepared Chris to make the big boy decisions that we want them to make then we're going to find bigger boys." His aim was straight and true.

Matthews' then tried to portray that since the Republican power brokers are basically unbeatable in terms of reelection bids in 2012, he asked Dennis "What's your threat against them?" Dennis again shot down the hopes of Matthews with his clever reply "My threat is you'd better find Jesus or watch your butt cause we're watching you and in 2012, you're in deep crap!" Damn I want to kiss that man!

I believe Mr. Dennis got it dead on correct. If Republicans think it's business as usual, many of them will find themselves losing primary challenges in their districts. Let's consider:

Look at the effect of the Tea Party pressure on the Republican Party and that's WITHOUT any formal structure or national power base. I know to hopeful progressives my words are sophistry and wishful thinking...that's what they thought about the possibility of Republican's taking the House in the heat of the Summer of 2010 too, so.... I hope progressives continue on as they have, making fun of and totally underestimating the power of Tea Party pressure.

As the weeks roll by we'll see if these are the right "big boys" or not. I can guarantee ya this...if by mid-Summer the new House acts like old Republicans the Tea Party will be one loud and constant din of displeasure in the tin ears of old guard Republican thinking.

In my opinion its the law of inevitability in play here. The Tea Party movement is very young and still look at its power. Imagine the power in two years if it has proceeded as it has in the last less than two years. Inevitability will creep in. Republicans will learn, and I'm betting sooner rather than later, that the Tea Party is the Republican Party - RINO'S be damned! If one thinks Democrats are to be caucused with join the SOB's and get it over with!

Mr. Dennis was speaking for tens of millions of us and every single person who feels as I do agrees with that assessment. Republican's will do as we instruct them or they will be replaced by those who will...it's just that damned simple. Course I don't expect progressives to grasp it...it's not egg-headed and nuanced enough. It's too "to the point" for their tastes. And that's good for me and mine. Keep laughing lefties. How'd it work out for ya in November?

Oh, and pardon all the warlike imagery I used...straight shooting; aim was true" and all that. I was just trying to tweak any poor lefties who happen to read this.

I don't think anyone should EVER be re-elected, for any office! Power is a strong drug.

When I cast my vote, my expectation is that the candidate will do in D.C. what I sent him/her to do. When did that change? Oh, silly me. When BO was elected.

Made my day watching Pelosi handing over the House to Boehner. Funny watching the progressives scramble like cockroaches...

Ha ha! Makes no difference to me what political persuasion an elected official is. If they don't hold true to their promises, they're out, on my ballot.

I think they are slowly getting the message

LOL...Even with your "straight shooting; aim was true" speak, you were still "civil", Whip. Amazing how straight talk is in fact "Civil". Nice work, sir, and correct on all points.
