Tea Party Movement: Elections Not Rallies

The Rapidly Growing Tea Party Looks Towards Elections Instead of Rallies in 2010

Micheal E. Brinkley
The Tea Party Patriots movement which began in 2009 has been attracting a large amount of attention from many of Americas citizens. The movement was started in order to give average, every day American's a voice in the political playing field. At first, the Tea Party was just a small group of people who believed that both democrats and republicans have forgotten what their purpose is in the government. As our nation's economic situation continues to get worse, the Tea Party's popularity continues to grow.

Many American's are tired of seeing our nations economy continuing to get worse. Not only that, but there are many out there who are growing angry about the way the situation is being handled by our leaders who are supposed to be looking out for us. The Tea Party is a completely grassroots movement bent on bringing the focus of government back to the needs of the people and not the needs of CEO's and the people with deep pockets.

The Tea Party Patriots organization provides support to many tea party groups in communities across the nation. As more communities begin to look towards the Tea Party movement as a way to make a difference in a nation that is falling apart, the Tea Party Patriots look towards getting a better grasp on the nation's politics. On February 8, 2010, the Tea Party announced that it will be taking another step towards brightening the future of the United States. Over the past year, they have had many different rallies trying to get the attention of the people. Although this has been a success, this is not enough to accomplish their goals. For 2010, the Tea Party has decided to focus on elections.

In order to truly make a difference in the nation, people need to be directly involved with leading. The rallies which have been hosted by the Tea Party have gotten people's attention, but that is the extent of their efforts. Although the movement is still very young, the organization is very strong and becoming more and more unified. The momentum of the Tea Party is growing, and in 2010 they will begin to attempt to get people who are supportive of the Tea Party ideals elected into different offices. These ideals are generally summed up into three ideas. These ideas are fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free market. Over the next few years we can expect to see these concepts pushed hard in the government. The Tea Party is prepared to move forward as quickly as possible with their goals. They haven't even ruled out the possibility supportive Presidential election in 2012.
