Tea Party Movement Under Attack

Healthcare Bill Passing Signals New Attacks to Begin on the Tea Party Movement

Randy Inman
Let's get something straight about the Tea Party Movement, they are NOT racially motivated. The Tea Party people are made up of Republicans, Democrats and Independents (like me) and it isn't about fighting against the first African American (well half white as well) President of the United States.

I seldom write about political stuff anymore for a couple of reasons. It was making me nuts and not making me any money as a writer. As an increasingly moderate (on social issues) conservative I feel the need to speak out in defense of the Tea Party Crowd. I wrote this article earlier on how to promote a Tea Party group so I am familiar with the movement.

Tea Party members are people who are tired of taxation without representation by a government that is intent on getting larger at all costs. Tea Party protests tend to be non violent unlike a liberal movement of such magnitude would be.

Recently there were allegations of Tea Party members at the Healthcare Protest in D.C hurling racial insults. Do I believe it happened? But I also think there is a better than even chance that it was done by liberals or people hired by liberals to make the Tea Party look racist.

Of course there are probably some racists using the Tea Party Movement to further their agenda but I expect the number is very small. Tea Party members tend to be hard working Americans of all political parties who simply want their country to be a better place to raise their kids.

Now that the Obamacare Bill has passed there will be more charges of racism against the Tea Party Movement. Liberals know that they can win a debate on the issues so they play the race card against those who are trying to fix the country.

But the Tea Party members and other people have been pushed too far by the left. When your normal every day American's who don't give a damn about politics start to protest, then a day of reckoning will occur during the next election.

It won't just be Democrats getting voted out some Republicans have to go as well. My Congressman Patrick McHenry has been more worried about getting Ronald Reagan on the Fifty Dollar Bill than fighting healthcare. Many conservatives in my part of North Carolina are livid with McHenry over his wasting of time on something that does not matter.

The Tea Party Movement will weather the new cries of racism and possibly grow stronger because of them. Even liberals who can be honest with themselves can look at what is going on and fear a government who tries to turn one side of the population against another for peaceful protests against it.

Great article! But everything you say will be dismissed by Liberals in one sentence as another irresponsible, irrational Right Wing Rant! I envy them, they never have to think about anything. After they are dead you can stick their body with an electrode and get the same Liberal response.

The Tea Party is too inflexible. They are against negotiations and compromise. They attack fellow Republicans who disagree with them. They are creating a bitter split in the Republican party. They will not be able to heal the wounds they create. The Republican party will be divided and their Presidential campaign doomed by the 'my way or no way' Tea Party. The Tea Party will be the reason Obama wins in 2012.

I think there's "astroturf" in both camps. Democrats don't like the Tea Party folks because they don't like Palin. It is not a crime to not want government oppression... people tend to forget that is how we became free to begin with!

Very good article. It's about time people started standing up against big government.....let's hope there is a MAJOR cleanup in D.C. come November.

The bigger, non-partisan issue is that politicians forgot their role of serving the people. Hold them accountable with your vote.

Thanks for writing this Randy. I read a piece, very negative, about the tea party movement. I had to comment that we had one locally in my own community and it was nothing like what was described; no one was slandered and only issues were discussed.

The Tea Party Movement is only the beginning. Some who voted for our president are still in denial regarding his plans for our nation. But it won't be long before those plans become apparent to all. When that happens, all hell will break loose.
