Teach Yourself Visually Microsoft Office 2010 Book Review

An Excellent and Informative Computer Resource

Lee Hansen

I am a recent convert to Microsoft Office 2010. Prior to that, I utilized the much older 2003 version. While there were some similarities there were many changes that I needed to be trained on. After looking at my library website I found one book that I thought would work best for me.

I am a visual learner. Pictures and icons seem to make a point clearer to me than verbiage alone. Teach Yourself Visually Microsoft Office 2010 is written by Kate Shoup. It is a Wiley Publication. It is divided into 23 different chapters. This makes it easy to hone in on a particular area, rather than searching through the whole book.

This book covers Office Features, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook and Publisher which are all part of the Microsoft Office Suite program. It is further broken down into subsections where users can easily learn things that relate to that that specific program.

All throughout this 416 page book, you will see example after example of colorful and readable graphics with step-by-step directions in how to perform certain operations. It also provides many tips and shortcuts.

The wording is done in a simple and understandable manner. Important points are highlighted in bold print that stands out to grab your attention. Teach Yourself Visually Microsoft Office 2010 will keep your interest while making your learning a more comfortable and successful undertaking.

It is without any hesitation that I would highly recommend this book if you're just learning this program or are in need of brushing up on your skills.
