Teacher Crystal Defanti Sex Tape Finds Home on Students DVD

According to the Associated Press, Crystal Defanti, an elementary school teacher from Isabelle Jackson Elementary who works for the Northern California Elk Grove Unified School District sent home a DVD with each of her children at the end of the year. It contained classroom memories from the school year that they could share with their families, but to her surprise, and the surprise of her students, the DVD contained six seconds of her having sex on a couch spliced between clips of some of the children.

While six seconds may not seem like much play time to those who aren't intimately involved with making film, it is enough time to introduce the young fifth graders to something that will need a lot of explaining. This tape is extremely explicit, and has really outraged parents.

Mrs. Defanti learned of the mistake when she received a phone call from a concerned parent. Of course, Mrs. Defanti wanted the DVDs destroyed, so she called all of her students parents asking that they destroy the DVD. One parent interviewed by CBS 13, said "she called hysterical begging for help to get the tapes back." Due to its extreme graphic sexual nature, it is no surprise she was determined to get the tapes back. Obviously, this is something Mrs. Defanti never wanted to expose the kids to.

Officials at the Elk Grove Unified School District also contacted the twenty-four families and asked that they destroy the tapes, but only after they had sent a letter to their homes asking for the DVDs to be returned.

CBS news is reporting that Ms. Defanti will probably not lose her job over the incident, but only time will tell. CBS legal expert Ken Rosenfeld says that the teacher didn't brake any laws, but she may be up for some kind of reprimand. One parent said that he didn't want the school to fire her, but wanted the school to offer counseling for the students directly affected by this.

When CBS news 13 broke the story, they actually showed the video on the news broadcast. There are thousands of sites online claiming to have the tape, including Youtube.. But, according to hollywoodcelebgossips, the Youtube video of the DVD was removed.

But, the question remains, how does a sex tape get spliced into DVDs of children, and why aren't people more outraged. Obviously accidents are accidents, but what is happening to our teachers?

The convenience of portable technology is probably one of the most reasons why these kinds of incidents are on the upswing. Still, no matter the reason, there seams to be a disturbing trend with many of our nations. Of course, no one is accusing Mrs. Defanti with anything more than stupidity, but in the past several years many teachers have been involved in everything from trading sex for grades, sexual relationships with young students, posing naked on the net, and magazines, and just about every other base thing a person can imagine.

It makes one wonder if the role of teacher, at least in some instances, has become a hot bed for sexual predators?
