Teacher Supply Discounts and Appreciation Days

Every school year as budgets get cut and money is tight for teachers, stores hold Teacher appreciation Days, teachers will get much needed discounts on supplies, great ideas for motivating and teaching students and even a few freebies. Most of the bigger well known stores do this now and it could be a great opportunity for any teacher to score some deals and even if you walk away without buying anything, you may get some good tips and ideas to use thoughout your teaching career! Additionally, most stores now offer teacher discounts all year long!

Staples -Staples is having teacher day at various dates throughout August, just check under your state and find a store. They are offering discounts, free gifts to the first 200 teachers and ways Staples can help you and your school during the year.

Office Depot - Office Depot is having their appreciation days on various dates also, they are offering 10% off in the store and a free breakfast for teachers & supplies

Office Max - Office Max is holding appreciation days August 23-25th, you will need to call your store to verify but like Office Depot and Staples they offer discounts with a valid ID

Borders - Borders does not have a Teacher Appreciation Day (although individual stores may do something, check with your local store), but they do offer a great discount program for businessess & educators.

Crayola.com - Crayola website does not have an appreciation day, but does have a goldstar teacher program you can sign up for. It has been reported and verified by several teachers that this May during Teache rappreciation Week, Crayola teamed with WalMart and invited teachers to workshops where teachers received great discounts, samples and even some got a $100 Crayola.com gift card.

Barnes & Noble - They have a Teacher Appreciation Day at various times during the school year but offer a teacher discount card you can sign up for to receive discounts all year long. Fill out the application and bring to your local store.

Apple.com - Apple offers discounts for teachers on their products, including computers

NEA (National Educator Association)- this is an organization that you must pay a small fee to join but with the NEA membership you have access to discounts on many things, from classroom supplies to life insurance.

Software Express - Software Express is an online shop offering discount on programs ytou can use in your classroom to help teach.

Ann Taylor - A teacher has to look good ! Sign up and receive a 20% off coupon right away!

Jo-Anns - Jo-Anns craft store offers a discount for teachers all year long

Smilemakers.com - Smilemakers is a division of Staples, they offer different classroom incentives, like sitckers, treasure box trinkets, they have a sign up for teachers to receive offers and discounts.

Clorox - This website is for cloroxclassrooms.com, you can sign up to receive a free kit with tips and ideas on keeping your classroom clean. Although the description says you get just a tip booklet, you will probably get samples and coupons through out the year!

And keep in mind, any store you shop at, it can not hurt to ask if they offer any kind of teacher discount or incentive, the worst that could happen is they say no and the best that can happen is you walk out with some new much needed supplies for your classroom at a great price!
