Teachers are very important and special people that are never appreciated enough for all their hard work and caring personalities. As much as teachers love receiving gifts from their students as a show of appreciation, over the years they can accumulate and create a large amount of clutter. This year when you're purchasing your gifts for the great teachers in your child's lives they will thank you for a clutter free gift. Here are some ideas we've used over the years.

-Supplies:
Although teachers receive an amount to spend on supplies it is never enough. Take advantage of all those school supply clearance sales going on right now and stock that teacher up. Make a basket with odds and ends such as stamps, stickers, class room decorations, paper clips, dry erase markers, pens, and whatever else you find. If the class has a class pet you could give them food/toys for that animal.

-Movie night:
Treat them to a movie. Either a gift card to the movie theater or to local movie rental. Include a bag of popcorn and soda.

-Spaghetti dinner:
Purchase a noodle strainer and put a bag of noodles, spaghetti sauce, and French bread in it. Wrap in plastic wrap, tie up with a bow and slotted spoon attached.

-Pizza dinner:
Pizza pan, pizza cutter, crust mix, pizza sauce. If you are giving to the teacher at the end of the day you could include cheese and toppings otherwise include a gift card to the grocery store for them to purchase at a later date.

-Gift card:
Give a gift card to an office supply store or other retail store for supply purchases or something for themselves. Also gift cards to nearby restaurants. One less meal to cook around the holidays is always appreciated.

-Combined gift:
Get with the other parents in the class and purchase one large gift together. The teacher would only have one item to find space for versus 20-30. This way you could purchase something really nice or give the teacher a rather large amount on a gift card.

-Bath stuff:
Nice relaxing bath soaps and bubble bath. Just remember they may get a lot of these.

-Donation:
Make a donation in their name to a local charity.

-Time:
Give her a note stating that you will help out with things he/she may be having trouble getting caught up with such as decorating, sorting papers, etc.

-Note:
Have the student write a personal note stating how much the teacher means to them. Then you write one saying how much you appreciate the time spend with your child. It means more to them than any monetary gift.

-Day at the spa/ or nail salon:
Purchase gift card for them to have their nails done or spend the day at a spa. Teachers don't get to relax enough.

-Cookie mix in a jar:
Create a cookie mix in a jar. Here's a link with some great and easy one's to make.

-Stationary:
Have personalized stationary made for the teacher to send out notes to parents.

-Books:
Age appropriate books for the teacher to use in the classroom.

-Edibles:
Bake something at home to bring to the teacher. Once it's eaten…no clutter.

-Gourmet coffees:
How about a nice cup of coffee? Give them a nice coffee cup with different types of coffee for them to make and enjoy at home.

Gifts are not expected from teachers but it is nice to know a parent or child is thinking of them. They will appreciate the thought you put into the gift as well as the idea of not having to find a place for the 1000th apple themed gift to collect dust.
