You select dress up games. There are literally tens of thousands of dress up games online and you can pick just about anything to dress up, from girls, to couples, to whole parties. You can even dress up famous characters like The Winxs girls, Paris Hilton, Scooby Doo, etc.
Don't like the dress up version? Have a son or a "tom-boy"? No problem. Some websites also offer free games so you can dress up shops, antique malls, parlors, shating rinks, etc. The options are great and with just a little help, your child will understand that once they select a clothing or object to use, they have to keep their finger on the left-click on your mouse or the object goes back in place. Soon after they realize how to use the left-click button, they will start to put the options they pick close to where it was intended for. For example, if they want to dress up a girl, the screen will show a girl, usually in a bikini or in her underwear. the things that she can wear will be on either side of the screen. your child will pick out what to put on the girl, whether it's a skirt or pants. The objects that he/she picks depends upon the game, but they are virtually the same. your child will also have the option of printing out the completed picture, but in some instances, the computer might only pick up the options, (the clothes to pick from or the objects), but not the object they are dressing. Your child will never get bored with this type of game and their imagination is not limited while they get to create their own look.
The best thing about your chil picking out their own objects to dress, is you can actually see what is going on in their mind. You can see what colors they like, what style they think is neat, and what accessories they like. Often the child is made to scroll the screen down and it adds to another skill they have to learn to play. They end up learning how to grab the scroll and go up and down. Children as old as three have been using my method to learn how, but for your best luck in getting them to learn, I recommend starting them at 4 years old. Your child will be so involved with working the mouse and playing dress up, you will probably have to get another computer.
CONS
Although teaching your child how to use the computer is very important, there are alot of websites that will scam you into paying for their services from the web. Be careful when you click onto some of these websites, because just like everything else bad on the internet, some links will take you into a porn site or a site that wants money so your child can play. These sites are to be avoided. there are too many free websites out there to teach your child for you to buy into their site.
OVERALL
Teaching your child how to use a mouse is generally a great way to get them to start at such an early age. Your child will already be curious about the computer, so sitting them down on the chair in front of a computer isn't that big of a challenge. In today's society, a child with the knowledge of using a computer is one of the more important lessons in life. Just make sure they understand also that life is more than staying on the computer all day.
