Team Fortress 2 Review

Stephen Johnson
When you first look at Team Fortress 2, you may think with its cartoonish characters it was meant for children, almost like Rescue Heroes. If you play it for even a minute, well it still looks like rescue heroes - with the exception of people trying to kill each other.

Plot
The plot is centered around two groups: Builders League United ( BLU ) and Reliable Excavation and Demolition (RED). Each organization has no army, so they must hire mercenaries to fight for them. And the Team Fortress two Conflict is born. Other than that, the game has absolutely no plot.

Game-play
The game-play is very straight forward: accomplish the objective before the other team does the same thing. Unlike most games, Team Fortress 2 had no single player mode until a recent update which allowed you to play with npcs on four different maps. There are some different game modes, but all of them are easy to understand. My favorite part of Team Fortress 2's combat system, unlike the recent Call of Duties, there is very little class customization which allows for a very balanced combat system. The classes in Team Fortress 2 are: Scout, soldier, pyro, demoman.heavy, engineer, medic, sniper, and spy.

Graphics
The graphics aren't amazing even on high quality. However, for the style the game is drawn in, it doesn't need to be.

Audio
Plenty of explosions and shouting. Sometimes the team *might* use a funny joke, or one that is just not funny and ruins your day.

Content
This game comes with a what?? M rating?? in all its cartoonish-ness? Yes, this is mostly due to voice and text chat, used mostly for strategizing, but you may occasionally hear some foul words. Not to mention there is plenty of cartoonish gore, in the form of body parts flying everywhere if you get struck with a rocket. I would personally rate this game teen aside from the chat.

Overall: A great game, I would recommend buying it with the Orange box, that way you get Portal, and 3 Half-Lifes in addition.
