Tech Clearance Deals Can Provide a Happy New Year in 2010

This period between Christmas and New Year's 2010 is a prime opportunity to cash in on some great tech deals. Popular products like e-book readers, LCD TV's and Laptop computers are selling at their lowest prices of the year.

For example, Best Buy is currently selling the complete line of Sony e-book readers at 10% off with Free Shipping. That means their Reader Pocket Edition, already the lowest price e-reader on the market, is selling for $179.99, down from $199.99. They're also selling a 46" 1080p LCD television by Samsung, for $999. That's about $200 off the internet price on most sites, even though Amazon is currently selling it for the same price with free delivery.

A great way to keep track of what's on sale during this holiday clearance season is to check out the tech page of dealnews.com, where they follow the latest sales everyday, and rank them according to the "hotness" of the deal.

Also, with tons of product returning to retailers after Christmas, you might do yourself a favor by actually going out to your favorite electronics store. Many of them will be slashing prices on perfectly good stuff, items that can't be sold at full retail since the box has been opened. As far as the warranty is concerned, don't worry, since most manufacturers will honor them on open box product just like a new product.
