#1: Consider the Kindle, or another e-reader. It's similar to an iPod, and is a small device that holds several books. It's good for a person to travels often, so that they don't have to carry books with them-all they need is their Kindle, and they have a wide selection of choices. You can download over 300,000 books from Amazon, and more are on the way. The current price of the Kindle is $259.00, but watch for holiday sales throughout the season.
#2: MP3 players are always a good choice, as they can be personalized with the gift receiver's own music and color of choice. The iPod Nano 8GB is my personal favorite, and is priced at $149.00. However, there are several sales coming up throughout the holiday season, so it's likely you could find the Nano for a cheaper price, or buy it during a time where you'll get a free gift card or another perk.
#3: Consider the Nintendo Wii. With it's recent price cut and increased availablity, it makes a perfect gift for the whole family. There are several games available for children as well, so it's a family-friendly console. My husband and I have the Wii, and it's one of our favorite things to do together. I was never a big video game fan before we got the Wii, and now I love the WiiFit, Wii Sports, and Guitar Hero. It would be a hit for the video game fan on your shopping list! The Wii currently costs $199.99.
#4: Digital photo frames are excellent gifts, especially for people who love technology but who aren't, shall we say, very technologically-capable. A digital frame will display different pictures, depending on what is loaded onto your memory card, and will create a slide show in your living room or office. ThinkGeek.com currently has a deal for a 15" digital photo frame for only $149.99, but you can find smaller frames this holiday season for less than $75.00.
#5: One last option is for a unique tech person, especially for one who loves Star Wars. Consider the Darth Vader USB Hub, which is a 4-port unpowered USB Hub, which will be his favorite item on his desk. His eyes glow, his head turns, and he even speaks when you insert a new USB device. What tech geek could ask for more? It's currently sold at ThinkGeek.com, and is $49.99.
Hopefully, you'll find a good gift for the technology lover on your shopping list from the above options. There are several other tech gifts available, so if these aren't on your list, check out sales throughout the holidays to find even more gift ideas.
