TechT Squishy Paddles Paintball Gear Review

Do These Stop the Chops?

Aaron Doll
The Cyclone Feed system is a great feeding system, but it does have its problems. One of the many problems it has is that it is very hard on paintballs, and it frequently breaks thin-shelled paintballs before they are fired from the paintball gun. This is due to the rotating, hard plastic paddles that are used to push the paintballs around in the Cyclone Feed System. These paddles move around at high speeds when firing fast and the hard plastic edges wreak havoc on paintballs. The TechT Squishy Paddles were created to correct this problem by replacing the plastic paddles with rubber paddles that are softer on thin-skinned paintballs but are sturdy enough to feed paintballs at the same rate.

Price
The TechT Squishy Paddles will only cost you $20 plus shipping costs, and TechT offers a great program where if they release a new version of the Squishy Paddles they will upgrade yours for only ten dollars if you send them in. They even allow you to keep your old version in case you prefer them for some reason. The newest version of the TechT Squishy Paddles comes with two interlocking paddles, and a teflon washer to increase feed rate.

Installation
Installation of this product is extremely easy. Instructions are here. All you need to do is unscrew the previous two cyclone paddles, put the Teflon washer at the bottom, and then align the paddles and place them on the axle. This is much easier than the TechT Vortex Mod because you don't have to do anything with the internals of the Cyclone and it is pretty much a drop in mod.

Performance
The TechT Squishy paddles are a huge improvement over the stock Cyclone paddles. With the old paddles I had frequent chopping problems even in warm weather and with thick-shelled paint (I even had chopping problems with Monster Balls- which have been known to not break when impacting concrete). After installing the Squishy Paddles, I noticed a huge improvement with my Cyclone. I no longer had chops or breaks even with thin-shelled paint in cold weather. Earlier versions of the TechT Squishy paddles did have some issues with mis-feeds due to coming out of alignment, but the newer versions are interlocking and no longer have that problem.

TechT Squishy Paddles are a an absolute must buy for Cyclone Feed system owners. It is priced right and exceeds all expectations, while fixing the Cyclone's biggest problem. If you have ever been frustrated by chopping or breakage issues in your Cyclone, this product is for you.
