Here is the error message: "You must install Office SharePoint 2007 with the most recent service pack.MOSS 2007 Installation on Server 2008 instructions
In order to allow MOSS 2007 to be installed on Windows Server 2008 we have to provide the updates before the installation. Here are the steps:
First Copy all installation files from you MOSS 2007 CD/DVD to a temporary directory (C:Tempmoss or whatever you choose).
Then Copy both the WSS 3.0 SP1 and MOSS 2007 SP1 to another temporary directory (C:Tempsp1 or whatever you choose)
Next, we need to copy all files inside the SP1 archives into the MOSS 2007 Updates directory usually located at x64 or (x86)Updates depending on your platform:
Open a console (Start > Run > Enter: cmd) and navigate to the SP1's temporary directory cd C:Tempsp1
Extract both archives to the Updates directory using the following commands:
officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:Tempmossx64(x86)Updates
wssv3sp1-kb936988-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:Tempmossx64 or(x86)Updates
You will find all extracted files in the Updates directory.
Finally start the MOSS 2007 installation and follow the instructions.
A few tips anywhere you see x64 it can also be replaced by x86 if your system is not a 64 bit OS.
Also download the files here (make sure you get the right one for your OS 32-bit is the x86 and 64-bit is the x64):
officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe
wssv3sp1-kb936988-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe
There you have it, follows these simple steps and you will be able to install MOSS 2007 on Windows Server 2008 without any problems.

Which one.. we extracted the MOSS + SP1, WSS + SP1, and the files from the DVD. If I select the SP1 install it asked only web front end or standalone. I need to install Complete. Where is this option at?
