Ted Liggett has filed a motion in hopes of having the court reinstate Leach in time for the Alamo Bowl. Liggett claims that he has yet to receive clarification on what Leach is being accused of, nor given any clear explanation for the action taken against his client to date.
Liggett claims the complaint against Leach came after James complained of "concussion-like" symptoms following alleged conduct of Leach.
The motion filed by Ted Liggett sets forth clearly the declaration that coach Leach would never "intentionally harm or endanger a player." The motion also claims that actions were taken against coach Leach without ever affording him due process.
The James family has also come forward making statements to the effect that Adam was subjected to circumstances that ignored the safety and well being of their son, as well as being devoid of any common sense under the circumstances.
James' father Craig James, joined ESPN as a broadcaster in 2003. Prior to pursuing a position in broadcasting, Craig James played for the New England Patriots and was named Rookie of the Year in 1984.
The mystery still seems to remain regarding the environment in which James was allegedly treated. It is unclear as to exactly how anyone wishes to characterize the place the alleged incident occurred. It also remains speculative as to exactly what happened.
Liggett has noted on more than one occasion that all he has received in regards to the action taken by the league against Leach is a letter stating that the investigation is ongoing. There has not been much clarification, if any, regarding the precise nature of the accusation.
Ted Liggett has only been able to speculate at this time as to the motivation behind the actions of the young James regarding his coach. The speculation has included the possibility that James has not been satisfied with his role on the team.
" I have no idea why this young man is making these allegations," Liggett stated. "Unless he wasn't happy or isn't happy with the playing time he is getting. I don't know."
Liggett has also gone on record declaring that to the best of his understanding, Leach has not breached any part of his agreement with Tech. By all accounts, Leach has been acting and was acting at the time in question, within the purview of his position with the organization. Until further details are released regarding the allegations, it is unclear at the moment what further actions Liggett intends to take beyond attempting to get the coach back on the field in time for the Alamo Bowl.
