Ted Turner on Lou Dobbs

Very briefly yesterday I turned the television on and caught the end of an interview of Ted Turner being conducted by his old employee, Lou Dobbs. Turner, that media mogul, was just wrapping up the interview with his views regarding our porous open southern borders, an outrageous situation now almost seven years post 9/11 and heretofore had been a specific mission of Mr. Independent to expose and correct.

As a former 45 year Arizona resident who lived with that situation for many, many years prior to 9/11, watching my fellow Arizonan's lives and property being adversely affected on an almost daily basis, and escalating by the year, I had felt at long last grateful that at least some media type was exposing the issue for exactly what it is. Negligence on the part of the federal government in actually doing the main job and function for which the federal government exists......providing for the common defense and protecting our nation's borders from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. There is no question that the border hoppers which have been using the border states as merely a place of commerce, lawfully or otherwise, have had an adverse affect on both the lives and economies of a multitude of border state residents. Arizona has the number one automobile theft and identity thefts in the nation, and the Phoenix and Tucson areas also top ten in violent crime. Rapes, murders, kidnappings and homelessness have been the result, and many in Arizona felt, that as horrific as 9/11 and the massive loss of life which occurred on the East Coast of the United States, did not even approach the number of American lives lost in the 20 years since the first Reagan amnesty, or since the U.S. won the Mexican-American war. Yes, many hard working Mexican nationals have migrated to the U.S., but the loss of jobs actually most affected the lawful Mexican-Americans in the West and Southwest, and the youth in this country. In adding those job losses to the property and human life losses, the total in both blood and treasure far exceeds the threat of a small, splinter militant Muslim group 6,000 miles away.

Mr. Turner quite clearly is an open borders advocate. He stated such in the interview, that as a past sponsor of the "Good Will Games" he could not support a wall separating our countries. Mr. Turner is from Georgia, however, and most likely also lives in a private security protected environment, as most of the Hollywood types and celebrities who are open borders advocates do. While he has a fence around his own personal property in order to protect it's boundaries and borders, cannot quite understand how just maybe the citizens of Arizona might like a little protection of their own - especially those that cannot afford private security such as Mr. Turner can provide for his home and property. I expected Mr. Dobbs to challenge Mr. Turner as he has a great many open borders advocates on his show with such positions. He did not. Instead, he all but groveled.

Since Mr. Turner is from George, and most likely a "stakeholder" in the recent expansion of the Atlanta airport undertaken by the Department of Homeland Insecurity, which is scheduled to be a major gateway from both Mexico and South America under a new Visa Waiver Program that was initiated by the Bush Administration and this department, could it be that Mr. Turner stands to profit from this airport expansion and venture? Instead of securing our country, the Bush Administration has just authorized a Visa Waiver Program which enables foreigners from 27 countries, including South Korea, Britain and several Slavic countries, "free pass" entries into the country with either immediate approval given online, or within 72 hours. These Visa Waivers are then authorized for a two year period. If a foreigner wishes to be at, say, a Board or shareholder meeting on Monday, how much of a background check can be accomplished within 72 hours? If another shoe bomber from Britain wishes to gain access to the U.S., instead of making our country more secure it does appear Mr. Bush and this administration is full out for wars in foreign nations while leaving our backdoors wide open. Part of the expansion of the Atlanta facility included several million in order to provide "welcome videos," for these foreign travelers.

Recently, when I was in the Midwest there were many rumors that Mr. Turner had also been quietly buying up land there over the past several years. It would seem to me maybe Mr. Turner has more information about the agenda and pathway for the rumored North American Union than the majority of most Americans including, it would appear, Mr. Dobbs who has also been the only media type to even mention the tie in between NAFTA, CAFTA, the Trans Texas corridor and the North American Union.

It would seem Mr. Dobbs had one of the mover and shakers of this New World Order sitting directly across from him. I wonder now if Mr. Independent is actually a Sovereign Independent American as he has portrayed himself, or a New World Order Unionist?
