Birthday Party Decorating
To Make Stage Setting:
Put black sheets on walls of the room you will be using.
Hang white Christmas lights around edges of upper wall if you have them. Or multicolored. If that is too much work, just have lights dim. If you have any disco lights, lava lamps, iridescent lamps put them out.
Set folding chairs and kitchen chairs as you would for a concert in rows. Borrow chairs from neighbors or family if needed.
Karaoke machine and discs of rock songs.
Games:
Guitar Hero for game system, if you have.
Have each teenager take a turn to challenge each other!
Karaoke: Let the teens take turns singing or singing in groups of two or three if they are shy.
Try on wigs: If you have any or go to Goodwill or any used shop to buy. The kids will have fun laughing. Take photos just like the paparazzi!
Drinks: Sparkling wine, ice water, different types of sodas in fun liquor glasses. Or use plastic champagne glasses.
Snacks: Odd requests rock stars ask for:
M & M's with the brown M & M removed like Van Halen used to do. Or serve peanut butter cups like they prefer at this time.
Hannah Montana: "I like peach rings. I love gummy worms. They're my favorite. Anything sour and with the most sugar possible.
Miley Cyrus:
Favorite Snack: Cookie Dough. Tip: Buy cookie dough ice cream to serve with cake as raw eggs in cookie dough are not a good idea due to possible illness.

Chips and dip.
Salsa and Doritoes.
Vegetable tray- Cut up carrots, broccoli, green pepper, cauliflower, whole cherry tomatoes, celery and Ranch dip served with it.
Weiner Winks:
1 package hot dogs
1 package Crescent rolls
Unroll Crescent rolls. Cut hot dogs in half. Roll half of hot dog into one pre-cut Crescent roll triangle. Bake in oven as Crescent roll package directions state.
Have ketchup and mustard available.
Paper plates and napkins with stickers on such as guitars, the letters "Rock & Roll Rulez!", and music notes.
Dinner:
Cheese pizza
Pepperoni pizza
Sausage pizza
Make it as easy as possible for us parents! Plus, teens love pizza!

Or try:
Musical Notes Mini-Cupcakes
Cake mix as above but bake in mini cupcake tins.
Buttercream Icing
1 pound box (about 3-3/4 cups) powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 - 4 tablespoons milk
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix until combined. Add more milk if necessary for spreading consistency. Buy black icing (Cake Mate Brand has black icing) Wal-Mart carries this brand. Or find Cake Mate online:
http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu73_nMxHjFwA3AdXNyoA?p=cake+mate+icing&fr=b1ie7&ei=UTF-8
Tip: Do not try mixing food coloring to make black as I did. The mixture only turned a strange brownish color.
Bake enough mini cupcakes for your party. Line a large cookie sheet (or two) with aluminum foil. Take black marker and draw music bars on foil. Display cupcakes throughout lines on the large cookie sheet.
Butter Cream Icing
1 box confectioners' sugar
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Beat until smooth and creamy.
Print out digital camera photo of each "rock star" so they have a keepsake to take home.
Possible sleep over: It is doubtful the kids will get any sleep just like true rock stars!
