Teen Party Games for a Great Christmas Celebration
These Games Offer Fun Alternatives to the Typical Teen Holiday Party
Gingerbread House Shuffle
While this Christmas party games does not utilize domino pieces stacked in a Stonehenge pattern, the premise is the same. The teen-agers at the party are going to use their wicked senses of balance and some complex mathematical equations to build the ultimate Gingerbread house that doesn't fall down. One of the best materials to use for this house is the common graham cracker and some powdered sugar mixed with water. Confectioner's sugar sets up fast into a hard mortar that will practically weld two graham crackers together.
The competition can be broken into two aspects. One challenge winner can be the teen who builds a house (or tower) to a certain height the fastest. The other winner is the teen whose house is still standing at the end of the game!
The Christmas Pinata
Pinatas are available for every occasion under the sun, so consider picking one up that celebrates Christmas and use it as a centerpiece for fun and games at a teen Christmas party. Teen-agers will, of course, find it easier to destroy a Pinata if extra tricks aren't used, so really mix this game up and make it tough by hiding the Pinata after the blindfold goes on or by vigorously moving it about both vertically and horizontally during the festivities.
Be sure to fill it with yummy Christmastime stocking stuffer miniatures of the teen scene's favorite chocolate candies - tasty! For a less caloric time consider using a variety of Christmas themed products like lip balm (gender neutral, please), pencils, or skins.
Present Trade Rivalry
Create a really fun present trade table at the teen party featuring a variety of economical but nice gifts and then have a miniature event where each teen draws a number from a hat, and then picks their present. Add a surprise twist by allowing presents to be stolen two or three times to create a friendly competition for the crème de la crème.
Some great ideas for teen presents to be featured include skins for electronic equipment or small denomination iTunes gift cards.
Have fun this Christmas and inspire some friendly competition to break up the tension at teen-filled holiday get-togethers.
