The teen that stole the bus is sixteen years old and is mentally disabled. He actually told the police he wanted to practice for his driving test. He resided in a group home in the bordering neighborhood of West Philadelphia.

When the teen stole he bus it was unoccupied, thank the Lord above. The bus was parked, but idling, as they typically are. I'm guessing this will now change. who would have really thought someone would steal a huge bus though? Please watch video at the end to see the sheer size of the bus and the damage he caused in his wake. The bus depot is a mere three blocks from the police station. This is definitely a factor in quick action and quick end to the ordeal. The sirens and flashing lights scared the teen, so he unsuccessfully pulled into a parking lot.
