The event, which will be held from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., promises to be the most star-studded event that Teen Trend Magazine has produced. Hunter Gomez (Family Guy and National Treasure) and Alix Kermes (Gilmore Girls) will be on-hand to meet-and-greet guests as well as sign autographs, while rock diva Kim Kline and pop princess Ashley Gomez will both perform. "This is just the beginning of the list," says Teen Trend Editor-in-Chief Candice Cain. "There are going to be a lot more surprises."
Attendees will not only be able to rub elbows with celebrities, they will also receive a gift bag filled with goodies, watch a fantastic fashion show featuring the latest in prom looks, and have the opportunity to visit with over 20 local vendors. "It is the perfect time and place for parents to bring their teenagers for prom, sweet sixteen or whatever other fancy event they may have," says Teen Trend Publisher Juliette Marotta. "I wish there was something like this when I was raising my two girls."
This event will also act as the Kick-Off event for the Gomez Family Food Drive. This food drive, conceived by the family of Hunter and Ashley Gomez, raised over 100,000 cans of food for families around the nation. The Gomez Family Food Drive is a national food drive that encourages teenagers to make a difference in their community. For their efforts, each team that joins the Gomez Family Food Drive will receive a free subscription to Teen Trend Magazine. Furthermore, the teams that collect the most amounts of food will receive different amounts of money donated back to their organization, care of Hunter himself. "You feel better about yourself when you are helping others," Hunter says. "Being kind to others and helping those that are less fortunate than we are is so important."
To encourage Prom Showcase attendees to participate in the Gomez Family Food Drive, Teen Trend Magazine asks all teenagers to bring as much collected food as they can to the event. The teen that brings the most amount of food with receive a $100 gift card and will also appear in an upcoming issue of Teen Trend Magazine.
