Teenager Arrested for Creating a Video Game Map of His High School
Now the Chinese Community is in an Uproar
The student was detained by police officers, his room was searched thoroughly by authorities, and the student was then forced to go to an alternative learning facility. Now, the student may also not graduate with his friends and peers due to this horror story.
Once the students room was searched no guns were found. However, authorities did find some swords in the boys room.
The Chinese community in Fort Bend, Texas, is now rallying to support the student and the unjust actions taken against him. The community rallying is trying to get the student readmitted back into his original classes, or just trying to get the school board to admit that they went a bit too far with their punishment with the student. According to Kotaku.com, one rallying community member had this to say about the situation:
"We should teach our children not to judge others harshly." (Kotaku.com)
Although the Virginia Tech tragedy has not happened so long ago, aren't we taking such cases as this a little too far? The student himself has his rights as well. No one merely went up to the boy and talked about him and his intentions, rather they detained him immediately without thought, and pushed all of this fictional blame on him. There were no reported instances of violent or negatory psychological behavior about the child either, unlike the Virginia Tech shooter.
According to www.fortbendnow.com, the student complied with police orders to delete the game nd the created maps from his personal computer.
The school district, weighing the violent matters of the situation, and using other disclosed information, weighed the matter as a "Level 3" matter. A "Level 3" matter, according to www.fortbendnow.com is as follows:
"The district's student handbook defines "Level 3" as an incident in which a student "engages in conduct relating to a false alarm or report (including a bomb threat) or a terroristic threat involving a public school." A Level 3 incident, according to district policy, results in mandatory transfer to M.R. Wood." (www.fortbendnow.com).
As of right now, no criminal charges have been filed against the student.

Post a CommentI'm impressed that a kid in highschool actually had the talent to make a counterstrike map. Thats awesome.
His parents are messed up. His punishments were extreme
I know it seem wrong for the punishments. But there are physcos in this world. It only takes one messed up person to find this map and starting laying it out in real life to either attack it or try to abduct some students.
yea i knoe that is a load of be even if was punished for mabby liek a week or somthing it was like fricking 3 or 4 years in pricion. this is a bunch of bull
His punishments went way to far.
CSS is a game, the map is not real, and just because it is an imitation of his school, what do you think would actually happen? What were his parents getting at? The fact that he has some creativity skills to actually make a map of his school and a bit of humor? It takes a lot of skill to make a map, as for myself, I can't even understand the program Steam offers to build maps. So if I decide to make a map of Wal-mart, I go to state prison. I am sure there are plenty of maps roaming around CSS that are imitations of real things. Plus, the only people who would know that it is that Childs' school are the ones who attend it. If he brings home good enough grades and you don't have a problem with him from anyone at school, leave the kid alone.
The parents got the police involved? It's really strange how they want to cause trouble for the kid.
Makes me want to slap them a little.
What The Fuck??
Why is it such a big deal to create a CS map of your school?
It's not like he was going to attack it or something.
And his parents are dumb....

im a young gamer age 14 and i have playd counterstrike source for 2 years and made maps for 1 year im tellin you you have a tallent and you need to keep it as soon as yo
I think a school one goes to is great inspiration for a map in a video game...most young boys go through some levels of violent fantasy at some point..I played "guns" for endless hours...this is silly to persecute this fellow and in a sense it is the sort of environment and practive by a scared society that breeds the real shooters
I don't believe creating the map was a great idea on the students part, but I think the disciplinary action taken against the student was a tad too harsh too fast.
