Teens Fake Kidnapping for You Tube Video!

Theresa L.
When someone is abducted, the police take it serious, and they should. In most cases, they are genuine crimes, and innocent victims are involved. However, every now and then you will get an idiot that does something stupid.

In Pennsylvania, four teenagers thought it would be fun to make a video for You Tube. What was the video about? A Kidnapping.

Foxnews.com reported tour teenagers staging a fake kidnapping in the parking lot of K-Mart. Shoppers called the police after they witnessed one of them being tied up, and thrown into a trunk.

The police tracked down the vehicle, and rescued the victim only to find out it was all a prank they were doing in order to make a video for the popular website You Tube.

Now that is just about as stupid gets, and what do these kids get in return. They were arrested and charged for disorderly conduct. If you are not familiar with this charge, you may think it is minor.

I did, so I looked it up, and was a surprise to find out this charge can have some drastic results. Criminal-law-lawyer-source.com states that a conviction with disorderly conduct can make it difficult to get a decent education and job. In some cases, it can even be prosecuted as a felony. Sounds pretty reasonable, but will the kids learn?

Probably. Jail is a convenient way to straighten out young adults, however, just because you do something stupid does not mean your life should be ruined. Perhaps community service where they have to deal with families and individuals who have been kidnapped? Maybe finding out the truth of what it is like will open up there eyes to the ignorance of what they did.

It is very sad that they would go so far. It makes my heart bleed for those that have suffered true kidnappings knowing how these kids made a joke of it. Thank you for your comment.

Whether they were just getting a laugh or really seeking attention, it's sad, they should have their minds on happier subjects. Good job in writing Theresa
