Teething Tablets Recalled for Poisoning

Sabrina Young
It looks like big business is busypoisoning our kids again. This time it is with Hyland's teethingtablets, which have been recalled because of belladonna poisoning (a form of nightshade).

Really? So when areAmericans going to finally realize that big business and corporations are not looking out for us. Do you really think that we would be in the situation we are in if the American government hadn't sold out to their corporate masters? So what? They poison our kids, they poison us, they sell chemicals under the heading "food", they gives us medicines that kill hundreds of thousands of people, and then they have the audacity to charge us outrageous rate for health insurance? Democrat or republican, our government has sold us out Americans. I don't know how to fight it. All the politicians are only interested in their own paychecks (tea party included). Maybe its time for a good old fashioned rebellion.

Hope you and your babies are safe. Please read the article if you have given those teething tablets to your child. I know I had to throw them out, too.

This article is unfair and uninformative. Hylands did a recall of their own accord. There's no conclusive evidence that it's their product that has caused the apparent problem. They are doing their best to make sure there is no chance of children being hurt. They didn't have to recall anything, but they did. So don't jump to 'big business' conclusions.

I have some tablets at home, and after what I've read about this recall, I still intend to give them to my little guy as they help a ton and he's shown no adverse reactions to them whatsoever in the first half of the bottle.

I think you should have done more research before writing this article. The so-called Belladonna poisoning has not been fully authenticated, and poisoning could have occurred because children got hold of the tablets and ingested too many. Hyland's, being a reputable homeopathic company, voluntarily recalled the tablets at the FDA's request simply to re-examine the dosage as an extra precaution, but they made it clear they do not think their product is contaminated (http://www.hylandsteething.com/recall/teething-tablet-recall.html). Belladonna is poisonous in massive quantities, but the amount in those tablets will not poison your child, unless they consume around 1000! Research homeopathy. The pills are virtually harmless. I have given all four of my children Hyland's at the recommended dosage and will continue to do so.
