Television Online? Yes, It's True!

Everyone has heard of the Internet, and most of us by now have experienced what it is to be online. These days, you can do everything online, from shopping and buying to running a complete business. You can learn how to cheat on your video games or learn how to make any craft project you can think of. You can research ancient worlds and take virtual tours of buildings halfway around the world.

You can even watch television. Lots and lots of networks have web sites that feature live web casts these days. Often, these web casts are interviews with celebrities and clips of shows that you can watch on TV. But in some cases, there are some Internet web casts that you can only see online. There are entire television shows you may know nothing about, because they exist in a virtual world.

It's called online television, and in the next few years it's going to explode everywhere. Soon, everyone will be showing live web casts and Internet shows that you can't even see on TV. No, for these shows, you'd better have a computer (with flashplayer, no less). One recently completed show (it consisted of eight total episodes) can be viewed in its entirety at BrawnyAcademy.com.

This is a reality show in which eight husbands who were treading on thin ice with their wives (and acting as men do, insensitive and lazy) were sent to the Brawny Academy to learn how to be caring, sensitive, real men. They were personally led by the Brawny Man himself.

You know…as in Brawny paper towels? This is not a joke, despite how funny the commercials on TV might be. Those brief glimpses and snatches of men crying and suffering - that's not for show, people, that is a show. And it can only be viewed online.

Soon, there will be more reality shows on the Internet. There just aren't enough hours in the day for the bevy of reality programming that most networks want to put out (as evidenced by the appalling number of truly horrific reality shows we keep on seeing), and soon enough more networks will turn to web casts. Television and the Internet already go hand-in-hand in some cases.

Expect more. As the Internet continues to grow and increase in popularity, and computers become more and more affordable for common folk, the explosion of live web casts will soar. Perhaps Brawny has the right idea to confine reality television (a lot of which turns out to be bad) to the Internet (which we already know is filled with things we'd rather not see).

So, get your computer ready, your speakers hooked up, and your flashplayer installed. Television is going online. There's a lot more to see on the Internet than you thought. Whether this is good or bad, only time will tell.
