Television Shows for Moms to Watch This Spring

With shows becoming more and more questionable for our kids to watch, here are some suggestions of good family shows for moms to watch with their kids. These shows are decent for kids to watch and can even teach kids a lesson sometimes. Be open in discussion with your kids while watching television with them, let them know your opinions and listen to theirs. This is an excellent ways for moms to spend time with their kids and communicate effectively with their kids.

AMERICAN IDOL: You knew it would be on this list. American Idol is an oldie, but a goodie. It's very good in the family friendliness department and of course, it is very entertaining. Never knowing which side Simon is going to take is just the beginning of the fun. This year the show has added a new judge, who like Paula, seems to be having issues with Simon so far this season. It's sure to be a great season and of course, who wants to miss out on finding the "Next American Idol"? Not me! FAMILY FRIENDLINESS: 5 out of 5

DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS: Ok, the singing programs are great for family friendliness, and this is just one more on the lineup. Though this shows ratings may not be as great as American Idol's, who can resist the enthusiasim of Wayne Brady, the host of this ever popular show. On this show, each contestant is trying to win money, by remembering and singing the lyrics of popular songs. FAMILY FRIENDLINESS: 5 out of 5

SHOW TIMES: Fox Fridays starting at 9 pm.

WIFE SWAP: This interesting show always has a new twist, with new families. This would be a good show for moms to watch with their kids most of the time. It could really teach kids some lessons sometimes and even open up conversations between moms and their kids on how their own house rules should be changed or bent a little. This is another show that gets and excellent rating in the family friendliness department. FAMILY FRIENDLINESS: 5 out of 5

SHOW TIMES: ABC Fridays starting at 8 pm.

KATH & KIM: This new hit comedy is a quirky show starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. Kath is Kim's are mother and daughter in this series on NBC. It's hard to tell at this time how long the show will last, but check it out while you can. It's mostly family friendly and can be watched by the kiddies. FAMILY FRIENDLINESS: 4 out of 5
