Televisions of the Future Will Feature OLED Technology

It seems that we just get used to and enjoy the new fangled stuff and then along comes yet another device. This is not itself a bad thing, no matter how mind boggling it becomes. We have seen a lot of changes over the years from televisions with rabbit ears and antennas to cable direct to your television. We have also seen VCR and DVD improvements. What will the future hold for your basic television viewer?

Most people do not know the differences in the televisions of today, and one of the biggest things is the difference between SDTV (Standard Definition Television) and HDTV (High Definition Television). Standard Definition Televisions have no special HDTV programming, They still have a great picture and will do the trick, the thing that you will be lacking with this type of television is the super high resolution that you get with a true HDTV.

The digital programming by the government will give you more channels to watch, it does not specify that you have to have an HDTV to view them. Then let's enter the Plasma Televisions, They are basically a flat screen and very slim and range from about 37" and up. They are commonly confused with the LCD televisions that is also a lightweight flat screen display but very different in their technologies.

The Plasma Television, because of the Phosphor based electronic display, the prolonged use of a menu bar or other elements can cause a permanent Ghost like appearance on the screen.

So what can they come up with next you ask? Here it comes, the future of television within the next couple of years will most likely be OLED technology . This is "Organic Light Emitting Diode". This is beginning to replace the LCD technology in hand held devices like your PDA or cell phone These will be the hottest trends I believe in 2009. They are very slim and require less electricity because of their light emitting structure. Because the country is going green, this should be the next generation of television as we know it. They have vivid color reproduction and do not take up much space. After doing some more research, I discovered the 11" inch television is very expensive at this point in time, but then so were all the other ones in recent years, with prices falling after the initial demand has been met.

There is also talk of more interactive televisions, this too will be interesting to see unfold. Computer meets television in the next few years.
