Mother's Day is fast approaching, and every mother deserves to be told how much she is loved. Sometimes it can be hard to find the right words to do so, though. Because of this, I've made a list of my top ten quotes and sayings that will make your mother proud to have you as a child.

Sentimental Mother's Day Quotes

If you're one for tradition and want to follow the most commonly used type of card sayings, which would be sentimental, then here are some quotes for you to check out.

1. Mother dear, look here, I have a gift for you. Look inside and you will find someone who loves you.

This is the phrase that my family loves to use whenever we have a personal gift that includes a picture. I don't know where it started or where it came from, I just know it's been passed down in our family and it's a very sweet saying. So, if you're planning on your card being accompanied by some sort of picture gift, this is a really sweet way of saying it.

2. Mother love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible. - Marion C. Garretty

This is a really sweet quote for those of you who want to strike a sentimental note with your mothers. Accompanied with maybe a nice personal message of gratitude, it implies all the sentiment of being thankful to have her support and to have her pushing you to accomplish great things. Not to mention that it also shows her that you've noticed that she's been there for you, which is one of the greatest things a mother can know.

This beautiful quote is what most would consider to be a very classic sentimental card message. It really expresses how much you think about your mother and everyone loves to know that someone thinks about them once in a while. It also expresses your love for her in a very beautiful way.

As straightforward as it is, and possibly even a little corny at this time, it's still something nice to hear from a mother's perspective. It's always nice when a child gives credit to a mother for doing something right, especially since we all know how many times they give her credit for doing something wrong.

There's a nice play on words here, but, more importantly, the thought is quite sweet and very sentimental. It does a beautiful job of expressing the love of a mother, which is the epitome of sentimental cards right there.

Religious Mother's Day Quotes:

I've heard this one oftentimes repeated, and it definitely does bear repeating. For the slightly more religious mother, this implies that mothers are the gift of God, and therefore the ultimate gift that one can get. This resonates with a warm, loved feeling that your mother is sure to feel just by reading it.

This is another really good one for a religious mother, for the same reason as listed above.

Again, a very good quote from a male to a female (even his own mother). It's always nice to hear it.

This is an adage I've heard many times over again and oh how true it is! And, of all things, a funny mom will love to hear it admitted. I can't count the times my own mother has used some version of this when dealing with me and telling me that I'm lying.
