Tempers Flare at the Day Resource Center in Downtown Dallas, Texas
Dallas Police Officer Gives Advice
Around about 7 p.m. (central time) at the Dallas Day Resource Center, located on Cadiz Street and Ervay Street, two of the city's homeless patrons were involved in an argument about a female they both have been seeing unsuspectingly. The two men, one Caucasian and the other African-American, started exchanging verbal threats after they found out that they were supposedly dating the same woman.
After a slue of vulgar and offensive words were exchanged the African-American man threw a punch at the other Caucasian man. The Caucasian man backed away and did not exchange punches because a police officer was already on the scene.
What makes this story interesting is that the officer, whom would like to remain nameless, did Not arrest the assailant, but instead talked to both men about how they could resolve this matter. Now the two men are in fact friends and had been for a long time.
The Dallas Police Officer obviously didn't think that the fight was "severe" enough to arrest anyone. Although this reporter did hear the entire conversation. The Police officer told the two men about how to "hussle" goods from a pawn shop legally, also told them that they should rent out a storage space to keep merchandise that they need to sell and he also encouraged them to get back in school to learn a trade and get a career.
Although many of the Police officers views had good intentions, this reporter is not sure how affective this may have been on the men. It also raises another question, are the police officers in Dallas, Texas, doing a good job in doing the right thing? Or maybe perhaps the officer knew the man whom had attacked the other man and chose this as a method of favoritism?
Either way these questions are answered, I strongly believe that the city council needs to investigate the Dallas Police Department and probably retrain its officers. I mean how safe are we really when justice cannot even be served or was it?
Voice your opinion below and tell me what you would think if this happened in your city/town right in front of you.
Thank You for the input on this subject matter.

Post a CommentI think this kind of thing happen's all the time. It's not that the police officer should be amended or remended it's the fact that he/she was there.
I think that is what made the difference in the argument. Had these two gentalmen been left to work thing's out on there own, they may not have been as satisfied with the outcome and there may have been no winner.
