Ten Affirmations for Creativity

Artists and Writers

Nancy Austin

1.Van Goghe wasn't famous in his lifetime. He died at age 37. While he didn't entirely give up on his art, he gave up on living to see his creations reach any type of noteriety. Ironic.

2. When eccentricity seems to be your strongest barrier between your work and popularity, consider the leading common factor for a host of celebrated writers of any era concerns literature which is unique for the time in which it was written.

3.Toxicity and productivity go together about as well as sardines and ice cream. It probably won't kill you,
but your creativity will likely suffer.

4. Labels, stereotypes and genres don't define you as a whole person or entirely as an artist.

5. Every piece of writing or art won't be your best work. Hit or miss, you created something.

6. Know bad advice when you hear it.

7. Writers benefit from being well rounded.

8. Recognize a compliment when it's given.

9. Wise people aren't aware of all the details applying to the individual. Those who are truly wise,
realize this is true. Install a filter.

10. Writing and crafting in general is inspired by life experience and intellectual stimulation.
