The Grinch Starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch is a wonderful adaptation of Dr Seuss' book "How the Grinch stole Christmas". It has a good morale to it and the characters are wonderful.
It is about a green hairy Grinch that is mean and nasty and he hates Christmas. He lives on top of a mountain away from all the Whos of Who-ville. The Whos of Who-ville love Christmas and celebrate it big. He plots to ruin Christmas for them and on Christmas eve he dresses up as Santa and makes his poor little dog pull his sleigh as his reindeer down to the village. He goes from house to house stealing all the food and presents so there is nothing left not even enough for a mouse. He makes it back up his mountain and waits for the morning to hear the people cry and be upset about Christmas being ruined. But to his disappointment he hears joyful singing coming from the village. He then realized that Christmas was not about the material things it was about the people and loved ones. His cold shriveled heart grew that day and he changed and became a nicer Grinch.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is a Jim Henson version of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge is played by Michael Caine and Bob Crachit by Kermit the Frog. The story line is basically the same Scrooge is a mean miser who is visited by his old partners played by Statler and Woldorf. They tell him he will be visited by three ghost The ghost of Christmas present, Christmas past, and Christmas yet to come. He goes with each of the ghost and see what each want him to see and realizes he needs to change his ways or he will end up as the ghost of Christmas yet to come has shown. This movie shows us how we all affect the people around us with everything we do whether it is good or bad. It has a good message for children.

Prancer is about a hurt Reindeer a little girl named Jessica finds and believes is one of Santa's Reindeer. She takes him home and tries to help him get better. Jessica does not have many friends only the old town veterinarian, the town recluse and her brother Steve. Things start going wrong when her father finds out and sells the Reindeer to the media. Eventually, after many things happen between father and daughter and the town folk. Jessica is able to get Prancer well enough to be freed to fly back to Santa at the North Pole.

Its a Very Merry Muppet Christmas in this story it follows a similar path as Its a Wonderful Life. With the Muppet Theater falling into financial ruin the Muppet's are looking to Kermit to solve the problems. Seeing that Kermit is discouraged and feeling hopeless he is sent a guardian angel ( David Arquette). The Guardian Angel shows Kermit how important and loved he is and how it would be in the world without him. There are many twist and comical turns but in the end they are able to save the Muppet Theater. Everybody will enjoy this movie with the musical numbers and jokes no matter if you are new to the Muppet's or older and grew up with them long ago.

Santa Claus is a great movie to answer kids questions about how Santa gets down chimneys. How his reindeer fly and how he became Santa. The movie has Santa and his elves working in his workshop when one named Patch creates a machine that is able to make toys super fast but it makes them so fast the toys break easier. Upset about what happened with the toys Patch leaves the North Pole. Patch starts working with a toymaker he doesn't know is crooked. At first things are good but the man is greedy and comes up with a plot to frame Patch with a crime and he and his partner get away with the money. His plot is spoiled and Santa saves his elf and Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas is an adorable movie about a brother and sister who's parents are divorced and all they want is for them to get back together for Christmas. Hallie the little sister still believes in Santa goes and asks him to bring her parents back together for Christmas. Ethan her older brother doesn't believe in Santa any more comes up plans of his own to get the two together. The movie is cute and shows the love children have for their parents. I had a little trouble finding this one in the town I live but was able to get it with no trouble on the Internet.

Jack Frost This movie I saw a couple of years ago for the first time and my son loved it. He now watches it every year. It is about a man named Jack Frost with a son named Charlie. Jack feeling like he has missed so much time with his son, even when he was alive, tries to make it all up with him. Worried about Charlie his mother goes to the cabin and finds him. On Christmas eve Jack becomes human so he can say his good byes before returning to the after life.

As usual he gets in trouble and is sent to the attic bedroom to sleep. In the commotion of sleeping in on the morning of their flight they forget to go upstairs and get Kevin. When he wakes he realizes he is alone and at first he likes it but eventually gets lonely and scared. His mother realizes it when they are up in the air flying and there is nothing that can be done until they land Then she does everything from bribing elder couples for their plane seats to hitching rides with Polka players in the back of moving trucks. Meanwhile Kevin has his hands full with two burglars trying to rob the house while the owners are away. He puts the two burglars through all kinds of toucher defending his home. When he wakes up the next morning, Christmas morning, his mother arrives home shortly followed by the rest of the family.
