You could do a scavanger hunt anywhere; in a park, in a shopping centre; in a house. Make a list of things which could be found in the place of your hunt. Decide whether they should collect these things or take photos of them (in a mall some things may cost money).
2. Bonfire Party
This is an inexpensive way to host a party. You can roast marshmallows and have a dance area. You can either play music on speakers or create your own music.
3. Makeover Party
Great for girls. You have have a sleepover and get friends to bring makeup and clothes. You could have a catwalk and take photos after you've make each other up. You could get everyone to bring clothes they no longer want and swap with each other for clothes you do want.
4. Talent Show
Get all your friends to think of a talent and set up a mini-stage for them all to show this off. Have prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. You could decide whether to have serious talents or silly talents.
5. Sport Party
Choose a fun sport as the theme of your party. You could have people dress up as a competitor of that sport. Serve fingerfoods as well. Your sport could be: ice-skating, painballing, miniature golf, bowling, roller skating, lazer tag, etc..
6. Grown-Up Party
Have your friends dress up as how they see themselves in 20 years time. Have them come up with life stories and it could be like a high-school reunion. You could have prizes for the person who comes up with the funniest life story.
7. Decade Party
Choose a decade (50s, 60s, 70s..) and have a decade themed party. Dress up in that decades dress. You could also have a century theme, like the Victorians or the Tudors.
8. Alphabet Party
Choose a letter of the alphabet, like the first letter of your name, and have everyone dress up as something beginning with that letter. You could also have people dress up with something beginning with the first letter of their own name. Have a prize for the most creative costume.
9. Camping Party
Go camping. If you don't have somewhere suitable to camp nearby then have it in your back garden.
10. Masquerade Party
Have everyone dress in ball-gowns and wear masks for a masquerade party. Create a really old fashions/fantasy theme in the room of the party.
