Product Shop NYC - This blog contains general music news like deaths of musicians, as well as information on acts coming into town. A recent post on the Todd P show with Japanther included a map, a very good idea, as not everyone is familiar with the Industrial Parks of Brooklyn.
Yentell - Unlike others on this list, this blog reads as though the entries are diary entries. The writing is in narrative format but still contains information and reviews. There are occasionally YouTube videos posted on here as well.
Brooklyn Ski Club - I like this site because it posts flyers of the shows that are going on in the city. It's a nice alternative to the simple lists that everyone else posts. I know it's a little thing, but a lot of blogs are very similar so when one does something different it's easy to take note.
sarah's so boring ever since she stopped drinking- This blog, written by a woman who runs the Stolen Transmission record label posts a lot about new bands, including the ones on her own label.
Ryspace - I particularly like that when this guy posts about a show he's been to he includes MP3s of the bands songs (not live from that concert, but still MP3s nonetheless). He also has an interview up that he did with the band The Grates.
Music Snobbery - Very simple design on this blog, which makes it easy to read. Along with show reviews, Music Snobbery also posts setlists. Recent ones include Bloc Party and New Pornographers.
Brooklyn Vegan - Updated many times during the day, I included this blog in another article I wrote that featured the best blogs for music news. This site is great place to go to for tour announcements and pre-sale ticket information.
Music Slut - With a name like that this blog better deliver the goods. And it does. Providing new album reviews (Scissor Sisters), reviews of shows, and music news The Music Slut does it all.
Village Indian - Many bloggers here in New York go to all the same shows. That's not quite the case with Village Indian. While he did go to the recent Bloc Party show, he has also been to a number of shows of bands I'd never heard of. I like to read blogs to learn about new bands and this is a good site for that.
