Most of us at sometime or another have thought about starting a business of our own. When we work for other people we invest so many hours of our time each and every week. Although we know that being self-employed does not mean less work. How much more rewarding would your life be if you invested that 40-60 hours a week into yourself and your new business?
There are so many businesses that you can do to start earning money right now. Listed below are 10 low-cost start-up businesses that require no special training and that anyone can do.
1. CLEANING SERVICE
Before starting your cleaning service you will want to come up with a name for your business and you will also need to be licensed and bonded. Obtaining all of these things are very easy and inexpensive. Check with your local city hall for getting an assumed business name and a business license. Call your insurance company to find out how much it would cost for you to be bonded. Advertising your new business does not have to be costly at all. Simply print up some flyers and take a day and distribute them. A great place to start is with apartment complexes, apartments are quick and easy to clean and you can do several of them in one day.
Check with the management office to see if they can insert your flyer into the welcome folder for new residents. Not only does this help you, but your service just added another amenity to their property.
2. LANDSCAPING
Landscaping has always been a great business to have, simply because it is something that can be done year around. In the summer you do lawns and in the winter you can do snow removal. This can be a great family business. Come up with a business name and print up some flyers and pass them out to your neighbors and friends. Also check with condo associations or neighborhood block clubs to see if you can negotiate a contract to do their landscaping and or snow removal year around.
3.HOME IMPROVEMENT
If you are good with building or fixing things, this may be the perfect business for you. Print up a flyer stating every thing that you can do, such as building decks, roofing etc. Take a day and go through the neighborhood and talk with some home owners. Let them know about your new business and while you're talking with them, see if you can give them a free estimate.
4. HOME DAY CARE
Having a daycare in your home can be a great business. Start with friends and family that may have small children and word of mouth is the best advertising of all times. Most day care centers are very expensive and offering this type of service in your home at a discounted rate can be very helpful to most parents. Feeding the children can also be costly, so therefore you can have them bring their own food. If you choose to provide meals for the children, you could ask that the parents provide the snacks.
5.WINDOW WASHER
Window washing may not sound like much, but this can be a very profitable little business. Have some business cards printed up. Go to local businesses such as, gas stations, insurance companies, real estate offices, doctor's offices etc. People are in and out of these businesses all day and there are constant finger prints. Someone has to clean them and why not you. You could clean their windows three times a week for a small fee. This will add up quickly, simply because you can do several a day all year around.
6. HAULING SERVICE
Hauling away unwanted things is a wonderful business. Almost everyone has some things in their attic, basement or garage that they want to get rid of. Check out companies such as U-hal for example, that allows to rent truck for a low rate.

Look online for wholesale costume jewelry and several companies will come up. Most companies have at least a $50 minimum and they will have you register your business name and they will want your tax id # (this allows you to purchase your jewelry wholesale).
