Forty American cities made the grade as the best places to enjoy canine companionship, according to Dog Fancy's article by Susan Chaney entitled "Atlas A-list" published in its September 2010 issue.

These Top Forty locations that cater to the canine offer summer festivals where dog avid populations can show off their furry friends in a variety of activities, open beach swimming, and dog parks where dogs can do doggie things off leash -- sniff, run, and jump.
