Ten Good Reasons You Might Want to Eat Oatmeal

Should You Be Eating More Oatmeal?

Chey Conner
Breakfast is the first meal of the day and it is the most important meal of the day. I have had many different breakfasts but lately I find myself making a bowl of oatmeal and the more I think about it, the more it seems like a good idea. Here are ten reasons that I can think of that are a good reason to eat oatmeal.

If You Want to Save Money and Time on Breakfast

In the long run oatmeal is cheaper then other breakfasts, even cereal. Plus I can make it a lot quicker than I could make bacon, sausage, eggs and toast. I think oatmeal is a great breakfast choice for anyone who has limited time in their mornings or wants to save money on their breakfasts.

If You Want to Lower Your Cholesterol

Thankfully I don't have to worry about lowering my cholesterol, but for anyone who does oatmeal can help with that.

If You Need to Manage Your Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is another thing that I am very grateful that I do not need to worry about, but if someone needs to manage their blood pressure they can help do that by eating oatmeal.

If You Need Healthier Arteries

Another thing that oatmeal helps with is how healthy your arteries are. I am glad that when I eat oatmeal I am promoting healthier arteries.

If You Want to Become More Regular

Their regularity isn't usually something that someone wants to discuss, but you can't blame anyone for wanting to be regular. By eating oatmeal you will be more regular than if you weren't eating oatmeal.

If You are Dieting

There are two reasons that when you are dieting that oatmeal is a good breakfast choice. It has fiber which is important when you are dieting and it is a very filling food, so you will full after eating it.

If You're Trying to Conceive

Eating oatmeal can actually help with your fertility. Your diet will affect your fertility and you should eat a minimum of six servings of whole-grain foods, such as oatmeal.

If You're Pregnant

Whole grains are important to eat when you are pregnant, that is why oatmeal is a great breakfast to eat when you are pregnant.

If You're Nursing

In addition to the nutrition that eating oatmeal will give you when you are nursing, oatmeal can also help with your milk supply.

It Taste Great, or At Least Has the Potential To

I think that oatmeal taste good, even better when I add other food items to it and who doesn't want to eat a breakfast that they enjoy the taste of.

I imagine that there are even more reasons to eat oatmeal, but for now I have enough to be eating it for breakfast for quite awhile.

Add honey, fruit, and soy milk, and you've got yourself as healthy a breakfast any in the world.

Oatmeal has many great properties, but it doesn't work for everyone. If you're a fast metabolizer, it can put you into a state of hypoglycemia. You can read my article, submitted last week but not published yet, for more information.

I eat oatmeal every morning. Add some peanut butter to it with some milk, and I'm in heaven.
