Help Improve Your Body Right Now

Every year there seems to be literally millions of different experts telling you what to do for you body and what not to do. There are also a number books and articles written on how to get in to shape, as well as how to stay in shape once you get there. The bad thing is most of the articles seem to focus only on diet restrictions and exercise, which for people like me tend to repeat the same things over and over again. While admitting that diet and exercise are extremely important in getting one into great shape, there are a whole variety of things a person can do to help their body and mind.

Some helpful ideas in which to help a person's overall health can really be most anything from self help to relaxing moments. Here are some of my favorite tips:

1. Walking is a great exercise that focuses on the body such as reducing your blood pressure and weight. Walk in the evening to initiate relaxing or early mornings to get invigorated. Walking doesn't have to be a sprint to produce great health benefits.

2. Taking daily supplements when a healthy diet is not viable choice. Most people who work long hours and have hectic schedules could use a multivitamin if not some other kinds of supplements such as calcium. The important thing to remember is you should always check with your physician to make sure that you can take supplements without any interference from you regular medications.

3. Nasal irrigations are a great way to open nasal passages without using OTC decongestants and they can relieve allergies naturally. There are many saline nasal irrigations available OTC that can give you the benefit of washing away any pollutants and irritants that are building up in the nostrils and sinus passageways.

4. Foot scrubs and pedicures are a great way to not only keep your feet healthy but provide relief to aching feet that have been working all day.

5. Soaking in the bathtub is great but the next time you soak try adding some all natural bath additives like olive oil or peppermint.

6. Loofah your body every chance you get. Using a Loofah all over your body can help clear up body acne.

7. Buy a soothing white noise maker for sleeping. White noise or soothing sounds such as a fan can help relax you while you sleep and also relieve the medical condition known as tinnitus. Tinnitus is ringing in the ears and can easily be soothed at night with masking techniques such as fan or soothing noise machine.

8. Stretching exercises can be great for the body and I am not talking about major exercise, just take time to slowly bend and stretch your body each day. In the morning a soothing stretch can rejuvenate aching muscles that have been sleeping all night. In the evening a soothing stretch can help you wind down from the day and relax. Remember to take deep breaths and relax using biofeedback techniques such as imagining relaxing each part of your body from your feet to your head.

9. Read a book or do some other sort of relaxing activity. Most people can take a lot of stress off their lives by enjoying a relaxing activity. I loved doing ceramics for years and found that while I did have some talent it was a great way to relax.

10. Garden with your health in mind as well. Flowers can actually stimulate the senses and make a person feel good. Herbs and other fragrant plantings can even be used to bring on soothing zen like calmness. Indoor plants add oxygen to the air and improve your health. As well as, once the garden is in place a simple bench is all you need to enjoy the surroundings.
